Volcano Update 2 - Additional vents opening -Volcano on La Palma island in the Canary Islands has erupted

I have never said there would be a megatsunami from this eruption since it is miles south of where the 1949 slide started.
To get a megatsunami the quakes would need to be shallower, stronger, and MUCH farther north and west. All this hype is bs. I could see from day 1 there was ZERO chhance of "the" rockslide because the eruption wasn't anywhere near the area needed to continue the 1949 rockslide.

Friends, Romans, countrymen - and my friend and countryman Doomer Doug... - I've never claimed that there would be a tsunami. I only shared information and the opinion of one of my friends who is a degreed geologist. Are you a geologist? Thought not. Neither am I. Apparently, from what I understand, learning about the fault under LaPalma is part of geology 101 in geologist circles.

Now, in fairness, you and I both have a lot of interesting opinions to share with this board on a multitude of subjects. In equal fairness, soliciting our opinions about geology, brain surgery or quantum physics would probably lead to sub-optimal outcomes.

MY opinion of the LaPalma volcano and a potential tsunami is that it's a low probability/high consequence event. As such, everyone in a potentially affected zone should keep an eye on it and at least make bug out plans if a sudden evacuation is necessary.

Supposedly, we'll have many hours between a land collapse and a tsunami reaching the shores of the Eastern Seaboard, but IMHO the highways will turn into parking lots within an hour of any announcement. Hence, there would only be a narrow window of opportunity to leave.

Marie, could you expand on why that's not good? Thanks.

Even if it just stays quiet but the lava flow has intensified there will be way more damage. It may have hit the main lava chamber. The intensified output is going to destroy alot of places and maybe (my biggest worry) people. That's the 1st scenario. Their government keeps saying it is relatively safe.
At this point I hardly believe that.
Here is the second scenario:
If it hasn't reached the main chamber then the explosion will intensify soon. Which could possibly destroy the whole island and create that tsunami everyone is worrying about.

If it has been working like this for long it is getting to need some silica or she nearing a tapping point meaning she is going to start pushing heavers out. And they are going to run a lot faster down that bandgo. Temps are getting hotter so hot spots in the liner may well start showing up.

This is from someplace we cannot mention...

I heard a rumor right now, from the internet

the passage at 10km is blocked with stones building up loads of pressure, hence why the WHOLE island is rising by the hour. if it doesn't break through soon THE WHOLE island is at risk of breaking in HALF sending a Tsunami 1000meter high in every direction killing up to 3 billion people worldwide

Silly. I'd like to know the source this person is citing. I have a good idea which banned site that came from. There's a reason they are banned.

Thanks. But it's the 3000 ft wave that is silly. The ground rise and the increase magnitude of EQs are really troubling. 3 billion dead is fear porn. I can't read the ground surge. Does that say about 240cm????? That would be a real issue.

Does it say mm on the side, not sure and that would be 24 cm? So would 24 cm be a real issue???

I blew it up. It says 240 mm. THAT'S 9.4 INCHES!!!!!!!!!! I'm not an expert at all but i've been watching and learning. IMO, a 9 inch rise is troubling. What does it indicate? I don't know but it seems that pressure is increasing. I've always heard that EQs over 4 are an issue. These two combined can't be a good sign.
