I wonder if the DOJ considering just asking Trump if he had inadvertently taken papers he should not have taken. Then Trump could ask them to specify what papers and have his employees do a search for said papers and turn them over. Too bad his name isn't Clinton or Biden so they could hear nothing/see nothing/do nothing. And full body armor and big guns which were unneeded except for nothing but a show of power (newsbyte). Did the FBI really believe they needed all that to go to Trump's home?
Also, if the show of power was supposed to frighten everyone into bowing down to the liberals, they miss calculated because from what I've seen it just made the conservative constitutionalist mad as hops.
Trump was on trial his entire presidency for one thing or another including the Russia hoax carried out by Clinton, Obama and Dem Party. I would dearly love, love, love to see an investigation of all the wrong doings of those three plus the Representatives and Senators for insider trading and other crimes including details on their "children's" being on various company's and country's payrolls. Until that is done, I strongly object to the continued persecution of Trump, his family and his employees. And then a thorough investigation of how Obama became a multimillionaire while in politics. Then while they are at it investigate last year's riots. Since the DOJ and FBI have done none of those things, I'm not believing anything they say or do is on the up and up.

If I had to bet - and I have no inside knowledge - I would bet that it was a member of the SS. They are Federal LEO employees and probably have more unfettered access to the entirety of the Mar A Lago property than any other types of employees.

I think it was a flex, a show of force.
Which they very much wanted and enjoyed, even though they have been mum through the whole event so far.
They may have figured Trump would react publicly, and save them having to broadcast it too loudly.

According to reports, the relationship between the National Archives and FBI agents sent earlier to "inspect" was "cordial."
The way Trump's office described it "We were doing everything required of us and were forthcoming."
I have no reason to doubt that. These are (according to reports) "routine" documents - some apparently "Sensitive" but some very personal and "Trumpian."
Another thread has indicated that this may be related to Trumps earlier attempts at "declassification." Despite the claims of many, declassification is not Trump alone - nor should it be. Instead a "defense in depth" position is the standard operating procedure with MANY Trump subordinates/appointees agreeing on a declassification.
Trump according to this other thread had assembled a "real reveal" of the subterfuge performed against him - a subterfuge documentation which WILL put Deep Staters in jail if they are made public.
This is the problem with classified documents - classification CAN be used to "hide" personal failings or conspiracy - which Trump (according to report) was ready to reveal.
It is thought by some that these documents are making the Deep State REAL NERVOUS - and they're pulling out the stops trying to get these out of Trumps hands/control.
If Trump has them - Trump controls the information. It may be information keeping Trump's path open to another Presidential run - they won't go after Trump if they think Trump might take them down.

Well, like others, I wonder about the 30 heavy armed FBI.
Either for theatrical intimidation, or they were concerned about SS, or Trumps private Security force. I realize SS was with Trump in NY, but I assume there was still a contingent still at Mar A Lago , and a contingent with the First Lady, PLUS Trumps Private Security Force.
Right now my money is on the Show of Force Intimidation.
But I would bet that Pres Trump will now increase his Personal Protection Staff ! And they will not be a bunch of Rent A Cops, not that the present force is. But I would think he will definitely increase the numbers.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said Thursday he personally approved the search of Donald Trump's home this week and has filed a motion to unseal the warrant authorizing the raid of Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Garland made a brief statement Thursday, the first since the FBI's raid Monday.
Garland said he personally approved the search of Trump's home and that the agency had probable cause.
Trump posted on his platform, Truth Social, minutes after the press conference.
"I continue to ask, what happened to the 33 Million pages of documents taken to Chicago by President Obama? The Fake News Media refuses to talk about that. They want it CANCELED!" he wrote.
Garland defended the integrity of the FBI and DOJ amid allegations that agents could have planted evidence.
FBI Director Christopher Wray declined to answer a question on Wednesday about allegations that agents were planting evidence in Trump's home. Instead, he said he was concerned about threats facing law enforcement following the raid.
On Thursday, the FBI's Cincinnati Field Office said an armed suspect attempted to breach its visitor center, resulting in a subsequent chase.
