POL Trump says GOP should boycott future elections until voter fraud of 2020 is resolved.

Former President Donald Trump appeared to suggest on Wednesday that Republican voters would boycott future elections unless the alleged voter fraud of the 2020 election is resolved.

“If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting ’22 or ’24,” he said. “It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”

Leading up to the Georgia senate election earlier this year, President Trump strongly pushed the voter fraud angle, which possibly led to Republicans staying home on election day, contributing to Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D-GA) and Sen. Jon Ossoff’s (D-GA) victories. As the Washington Post noted:

A historic Democratic sweep in Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoffs rested in large part on half a million voters who stayed home, and on black voters who did not, according to preliminary results.

With control of the Senate at stake, following unprecedented campaign spending and with both President Trump and President-elect Joe Biden rallying for support, fewer people voted across the state. Runoffs often draw fewer voters, and this time the drop from the November general election amounted to about one voter in eight.

But turnout in Republican strongholds dropped by more. And differences across the state highlight the key role of black voters who powered the sweep.

President Trump has not yet committed to running in 2024, though he has strongly hinted at it in interviews and speeches. Speculation of a 2024 run was further heightened this past weekend when the president held a rally in Iowa, a state he won handily in 2020 – 53.1 percent to Biden’s 44.9 percent.

Repubs staying home cost them the Senate in the Georgia runoff. So much for that theory, as the Post actually summarized the conclusion accurately for once.

In spite of the blatant criminality, I will vote. I feel reasonably confident at this point that it is properly accounted for in this state (Mizzoorah). But even if it weren't, I would still vote.

The reason is that IF there's ever a proper audit done afterwards (and not another silly "recount" which is reported by the massed media idiots to be equivalent to a real audit), I want my vote to be in there and accounted for. What's even the point of an audit having no chance to prove cheating if over half of voters boycott? The audit would just show that most of the voters didn't vote and wouldn't change a thing - not that it would anyway, perhaps.

I have never yet seen a voting boycott succeed anywhere around the world, other than get a polite mention on BBC or someplace while the crooked politicians go on about their looting and tyranny.

I was cured of hopium long time past and don't think the system can be recovered in a civil way. But it doesn't mean that one shouldn't make their own decision about their participation, or lack thereof. In this neck of the woods, the majority of real election races are local anyway. (Trump won this county with an 85% vote IIRC)

If you don't want to vote, don't. That's your call. But surely folks have the right to make their own choices without you disparaging them.

I will continue to vote - even though I am CONVINCED beyond any possible repair that its FIXED and that my vote means little to nothing. truth told its been "fixed" for GOD alone knows how long. when I DO VOTE I will know that I have continued to do my part. when other means of correction are undertaken I will be able to state in good faith that "I DID ALL I COULD" before it was forced to this unhappy endpoint.

Right. If Trump said that he's more of an idiot than I thought. I'm one that liked Trump. I was a Trumper before most ever heard of him on the political scene. BUT, he proved to me he cannot hire the right people nor could he do what he should have done and had the capability to do...fire people that he could. Biden has no issues with that. So, either this is a misquote or something. If that is the case, and he said it, why is Trump backing people in elections?

I used to tell ppl way way back we need Donald Trump or someone like him to run this country like a business.
To many missteps tends to deplete trust in anything and anybody.
Trust is empty on DJT.

I've always been a Trump supporter, but this has to be one of the stupidest statements I've ever heard anyone make.

Eh... it makes some sense... if RINOS refuse to take any action over this... and voters simply tell them they are done voting unless this gets fixed, it might motivate them.... but unless huge numbers really did it all at once its obviously just gonna fail.

I don't trust any politician. However, I have felt Trump loves America and roots for Team America. You won't find this in any politician I know about. I'd rather another America loving person run, but if Trump runs again I'll vote for him.

Colorado's voting is bogus. Just got my ballot the other day.

I'll fill it out and mail it in. But, THEY WILL GET WHAT THEY WANT. No matter what the people vote.

Reread the hit piece in the OP. "Former President Donald Trump appeared to suggest....". He did not say for supporters to stay home on election day. The is reaching to the max.

Right Trump never said exactly what the headline claims. It is MSM hit piece. Yet Trump did not exactly say it the best way either.

Molly Hemingway posted a piece on The Federalist after she had several interviews with President Trump recently. I like her writing anyway but imho she has presented him in a more realistic light than any article I've ever read. It's well done.

Also, today Schlichter published a pretty fair column which pointed out Trump's biggest mistakes especially in hiring people and how he needed to admit them. I'm not certain he's capable of admitting a mistake, actually, but he does need to answer questions in a primary concerning his selection of Wray, for instance, or trotting Fauci out in front of the nation and not slamming the door on his ass as he booted the fake doctor back into obscurity.

(To be fair, he pretty much admitted that he "botched the Fautch" in one of the interviews with Ms. Hemingway, figuring that he pretty well had to be knowledgeable, a straight shooter and all that. He is a straight shooter, straight out of Gates' pocketbook to his own, but that's now old news)

Every body can parse it all day long, to mean whatever. So either he meant to say that, or not.

At the best, it was a poor choice of words, same as " Hillarys good people", or I like to take the guns first, due process later ".

Or, he said what he intended. Each person will have to reach his/her own conclusions.

Trump has been in the political game long enough that he should know to choose his words more wisely. If he did that, then no excuses !

I wish I did not have this bad gut feeling !!
