POL The STUPID PARTY

Even main-stream media is starting to pick up on the fact that the GOP is tearing itself apart like an unbalanced flywheel.

Matt Lauer on the Today show mentioned that we should expect to see these negative sounds bites showing up in Obama's campaign, that it was a gift or a stocking stuffer from the GOP. Makes you wonder if the GOP really wants to win. It certainly questions the motives and whether the GOP has America's best interests in mind or are they like all politicians, self-serving and narcissistic.

I've been saying that all along, the GOP candidates so intent on winning the top spot for themselves have lost sight of the mission, the goal. They have said so many negative things about each other it should be virtually impossible for any of them to get elected after all these negatives are used against them.

Maybe that was the intent all along, especially since it looks like Romney is going to be the front runner. Just like McCain, I think having a RINO run against the DEM is probably a good strategy because the race is going to be decided by the Independents with approximately an equal share voting for the GOP/DEM side. The Independents are NOT going to be thrilled by a RINO but even if the RINO got elected, the left would celebrate because RINOs are to the left of center.

I'm thinking it is going to be a pretty dismal year unless we can get Ron Paul elected.

Fox News is also saying the same thing.

The ad comes as prominent conservative leaders beseech Romney's foes to take a new line of attack.

Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich have been the hardest on Romney over his record at investment firm Bain Capital. Perry calls it "vulture capitalism." Gingrich has urged Romney to hold a press conference solely to discuss his business dealings.

On Thursday, Perry lost a key South Carolina donor to the Romney campaign over his remarks. Ex-Perry supporter Barry Wynn said Perry's attacks were "like fingernails on the chalkboard."

Republican New York Rep. Michael Grimm also released a statement saying the attacks would have a "negative effect on the party."

Yes, I cetainly have the impression that the Republican leadership doesn't care whether they win this or lose it. I think they had a good shot at ousting Obama, had they gotten organized and shown a united front that was concentrated on the final goal. Nothing of the kind is happening, though. Obama is able to sit back and watch these guys do his work. What's going on right now wouldn't be so bad if it were going to lead to getting a really solid person that everybody could get behind in the end, but it seems that none of the guys who are running is that person. I fear that people will be about as excited over the final nominee as they were over John McCain, and the Republican campaign will be as lackluster as McCain's was. They really are the stupid party.

I'm hoping against hope that all this business of the GOP candidates eating each other alive will result in RP being the only man left standing who has clearly not been a part of the problem. Just finished watching a video about Romney and his Bain shenanigans. IMO, he -- and a good many others -- ought to be sitting in jail for insider trading. It's called "When Mitt Romney Came to Town" and has perhaps already been referenced on TB. It's clearly sponsored by a Newt group, but Newt isn't any cleaner than Romney. Both of them are business as usual.

Perhaps TPTB are jumping the gun a bit on dissing the Rep candidates. I can only hope their plan bites them in the butt. They've drunk so deeply of their own cool aid about RP not being electable that they may just create that rarest of rarities: A winning dark horse. One can only hope.. and pray.

I hope the RP supporters are all clearly aware of what WILL happen should he win. This country will immediately enter the Greatest Depression full bore running. It will be extremely painful. His supporters need to understand that and be willing to pay the price. The sooner we get into the financial reboot, the sooner we get out. In other words, to continue on as we have been doing simply makes the recovery time from our excesses that much longer. The longer we delay, the greater the pain and longer the recovery process.

By the way, if you know RP at all, his defending Romney is not at all surprising. What Romney did with Bain is clearly not unconstitutional. And RP is a man who upholds the constitution. What Romney did is a character issue, not a constitutional one. His character and behavior is why capitalism is failing: Unrestrained Greed.

Another commentator I read yesterday, I'd give the link if I could remember where stated it is very suspicious that many politicians that start out poor decades later have millions of dollars in the bank, all on a politicians salary and he gave Harry Reid as an example. It does make you wonder, insider trading, graft and payoffs?, raiding the campaign chest?, favors?

i would rather see the GOP mud wrestle now in primaries to find the candidate that IS SUPPORTABLE
The National Big money RNC is NOT listening to the State or the County messages.

If Romney could not beat McCain, and McCain could not beat Obama, then why is Romney selected other than the National GOP is the rich boys club (that the TeaParty wont support) who plans to keep Obama in office..

The Nation has divided into 4 distinct parties.
the Big Money Flat Earth NWO GOP
the Conservative Christian Republicans,
the little d - Democrats and
the Obama Progressive Socialists who pretend to be Democrats.

The Tea Party continues to be the disgruntled middle ground regular people who ignored by the power brokers.

Just as last time, the Republicans do not want to win. If the nominee is anyone but Paul, you will see the same "play dead" performance (and I use the term intentionally) that we say with McCain.

This might not be quite as bad as it looks right now. EVERYTHING that's coming out NOW would have come out in the general campaign. Don't think Obama doesn't know these things about every GOP candidate and has every intention of using it. BUT, since most of the dirt is being exposed now, the GOP can actually see the dirt on ALL their choices before ONE is chosen to run against Obama.

For the life of me I don't understand why the media is ignoring the fact that ROMNEY is the one that STARTED throwing MUD BOMBS at Gingrich. Newt was (so it seemed) trying to run a clean campaign and for a while did nothing to even defend himself; save saying what Romney was saying wasn't factual. Now Gingrich and Perry are the BAD GUYS, running the negative ads.

Another thing I have trouble understanding (really I do get it) is why the media keeps talking about who has/can raise the most money. Sounds to me like they're saying who ever has/raises the most MONEY can simply BUY the election. If this is the case, money talks and BS walks so we can just look at net worth and find out who's going to win. Sad. Right now it looks as if we're going to have two choices; the MUSLIM or the MORMAN - NEITHER OF WHICH ARE CHRISTIAN.

On TB every waking moment
NPR had an interview with an independent fact checker on the Romney film. There were many false statements - such as Romney running KB Toys into debt. The film was apparently produced by a PAC and Gingrich has asked them to recall it until the untruths are fixed.

My litmus test on the R Candidates is global warming/sustainable development/biodiversity treaty/agenda 21 It is being used by Obama (just like Clinton/Gore) to administratively impose unconstitutional controls over private property and to lock up our natural resources from use. If we have another progressive President, there will be no republic or natural individual rights remaining.
