OP-ED The Silence of DeSantis – Florida Governor Ducks Media Appearances, Records Statements, Seeking to Avoid Questions About Trump Raid

Faithful Steed
See Dobbin, here’s the issue: the search warrant (from what’s been leaked about it) specified ONLY the specific archive documents. It also specified where those docs were located. All nice and legal. Until the doors were breached. Reports indicate that every room of the house was searched, and every single document taken, INCLUDING Trump’s business and personal docs. During that outrageous excess, his lawyers WERE NOT PERMITTED IN TO OVERSEE THE EXECUTION OF THE WARRANT.

Have you just not been following along?
We're still not sure about the Search Warrant terms. A lot has been said by both sides.

As to searching Melania's garments - well, the FBI is looking to improve their "disguise" inventory. Maybe "fashion ideas" is among the information they hope to benefit from?

Sorry. YOu are right. SWs are "specific." The FBI apparently took it as "license to loot."

An inventory of items removed has yet to be produced...

And - we are talking about a regime without rule of law.

Trump, in my opinion, is the only man that has a chance to stand up to the deep state. That's why they are so scared. They have nothing on him to blackmail him with (doesn't drink, do drugs, sniff little girls hair, etc), and they can't find any way to charge him with a crime therefore he is not controllable. He is rich (big plus, makes him independent of all the elites who think they are kingmakers) so they can't buy him or bankrupt him with legal cases. He is a man of strong convictions and I think he cares a great deal about this country. DeSantis might be a good guy but he doesn't have ALL the qualifications that Trump has. He may not be perfect but he is the best chance we have especially if we want to start fixing this mess without destroying the whole country.

Trump can fight his own battles he doesn't need help from DeSantis. Trump can afford to fight the federal machine in court and protect his family. Trump has the backing of an estimated 35% of the country (probably more) and many of them are happy to directly fund his campaign. The GOP, begrudgingly is forced to support Trump due to the numbers of his MAGA followers. DeSantis? Not so much.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
Like I have said before, people are on a razor's edge. We are nipping at each other. Most people do NOT change their opinion or learn from "correction" that is given in a hostile or attacking manner. It causes them to be angry and defensive.

And then again, some people need to learn some social skills, because they just enjoy cutting others down so they can feel superior.

Vicodin doesn’t help alleviate this.

It is what it is. I gave him 4 years to make good on his promise. This is the first time I have voted for a Republican since GHWB lied. Now we have an armed Communist regime coming for us. Good luck waiting for your golden egg to hatch.

Never mind that we only had this armed Communist regime coming for us since they stole an election to make it happen.

You may have "gave him four years," but you fail to take into account the sheer amount of resistance he had to fend off to get anywhere.

Not only did the swamp in question build for almost a decade for every miserable little year you gave him, but he had to fight his way through even his own party's resistance the whole time.

If you can name me ANYONE better than that, short of Jesus Christ Himself--who isn't running, by the by--you're more than welcome to do so. Go on. I'll wait.

Trump cucked and otherwise malfed around the post-election stuff in 2020-2022. Not only did Trump not call out to all loyal Americans, in and out of uniform, to come armed to DC with food and gear, prepared to stay until this whole thing was made right, as I thought he should have. (This is what "Crossing the Rubicon" would have constituted.).
He also did not have canvassers sent out to get names and contact info on all present, a priceless one-time opportunity to build a database of real friendlies. He didn't even subsequently pardon Jan. 6 Kangaroo-court arrestees just before Jan. 20th! That was a breaking of faith akin to Jimmy (spit) Carter's pardoning the Vietnam draft dodgers, or Eisenhower's failure to reverse FDR's (may the latter Commie continue burning in h*ll) Executive Order 6102 in May 1933 confiscating all American's gold at 20/oz (using Holocaust survivor asset recovery laws would have been apt IMO).

DeSantis has worn the uniform. I cannot tell if he got shot at or not, but he was in the sandbox long enough and close enough to hear the guns and shells. Trump only wore a mil uniform in military school; he never took the oath.

He also makes major mistakes considerably less often than Trump does, from what I have seen.

Being cautious in a murky situation where immediate decisive action is not clearly needed is NOT cowardice, but prudence.
I still think DeSantis is more who we need now in the White House than Trump.
Trump knows where all the bodies are hidden. He needs to finish out what would have been his 2nd term.

What Trump should do is campaign with DeSantis as his VP, win in 2024, and then DeSantis in for prez in 2028. De Santis will then have the experience to step into Trump's shoes.

Well if Trump gets back in as president, he can go really go about cleaning house and exposing the swamp for what it is because he doesn't have to worry about running again. Maybe even turn the table on them and start going after them. Just needs to be coy about it and make not look too obvious unlike these fools are doing.

No!
Wish I could find that cartoon along the lines of you don't convince people by being nice, you convince them by flames and flying body parts.

No one. If Trump couldn't do it in 4 years, and it is now worse, then why even vote?

What can Trump do now, that he couldn't do in the past 4 years?

Who knows? Maybe he learned from some mistakes. Maybe he has a new plan. There's really no way to know. And the only way to find out is to vote him in.

Will you sit idly by and miss your chance to make it happen?

I've been voting for 47 years and no president has come through on their promise, other than the Communists to destroy America. In 6 years, let me know how your new plan worked out. lol

Irrelevant. If the budget were vetoed, ultimately congress would simply override the veto. That’s why I said bullshit. It doesn’t matter if he signs it or not.
Well it matters to me. It's my money. I would have vetoed the budget on behalf of every tax paying American. If congress was to override it, then let them. Force them! That's why I voted for his ass to start with, is to stand up to the communists, win, loose or draw.

Nobody got any balls anymore to stand up for whats right.

DeSantis and Trump are neither perfect men. Trump's hiring practices are in part what has him backed against the wall and currently useless except as an excuse and distraction from kicking ass and taking names ... assuming of course that the GOP gets that Low-T problem they have addressed.

I went toe to toe with some of DeSantis' declarations during the so-called covid lockdowns. Sure, he returned to breathing oxygen like the rest of us sooner than a lot of other people did but that doesn't mean that I completely exonerate some of the idiocy that occurred here in FL. Then again, Trump had a major hand in the stupidity that started us down this road to hell paved with good intentions.

Stop expecting perfection from everyone but yourself. You know what DeSantis' title was in 2007? Legal Advisor to the SEAL Commander, Special Operations Task Force-West. That means he served in Seal Team One in Fallujah.

Not only is he a lawyer, he was a Seal, and that makes for pretty damn good chess player/strategist, but it doesn't make him perfect. His reaction is going to be measured and he is going to be at least personally assured of the facts before he acts.

As my son said, you have to measure these people as a whole and not just on one or two actions. One or two good things does not negate a career of intentional ignorance and stupidity. Neither does one or two bad things. For now DeSantis makes a really good governor. That's where the power in this country should lie, at the state level. In another term as governor he may make a good POTUS. But at no time will he ever be perfect.

This goes for Trump as well. I got a long list of stupids I could attribute to Trump, but he was the POTUS that we needed at the time or we would be in a worse fix now. I think he has also gotten a raw deal and them people better realize that Judgment Day be coming, and that's not just referring to a spiritual one though there will be a lot of that in there as well.

Neither man ... Trump nor DeSantis ... will ever be able to accomplish anything if We The People don't get off our cans and stand up to the idiots that currently hold the positions they do in the House and Senate and all the backrooms and alleys that run DC. We The People need to understand that one man or woman cannot undo all of the stupidity that we have voted in over the last hundred years.

Stop looking for someone else to do the work that YOU should be doing and the actions and words YOU should be making public.

well said, neither guy needs to be put on a pedestal and or idolized.
Give them credit when they do good and call them out when they do bad.
