This is the second person being charged for theft by Norfolk Southern. I don't feel the least bit sorry. I'll post the other one tomorrow, if it is okay. I'm going to omit the names, even though the newspaper includes them. I doubt anyone here would be familiar with the persons, anyway. Our little town is such a sad place now.
Here are a few announcement from the local newspaper about theft from the Norfolk Southern assistance center, RE the horrible train wreck and subsequent problems in my little town. (East Palestine, OH) The wreck happened about 10 months ago.
“A preliminary hearing was set Nov 26 for **************, 31, Wheathill Rd, E Palestine, charged with 4th degree felony falsification and 5th degree felony theft by deception for allegedly going to the Norfolk Southern assistance center on Feb. 10 and presenting an alleged fraudulent lease agreement for $5000 FOR WHICH HE WAS REIMBURSED. Then on March 6, he presented Norfolk Southern an alleged fraudulent lease agreement for $5000 for which he was reimbursed. Then on March 6, he presented Norfolk Southern with an invoice for rental of an RV for $13,807and received a check for payment, but cancelled the RV rental and kept the money. The total theft was for $18,807.
