More of the world turned upside down.

The election was held last year but the Swedish Swamp refused to form a coalition government with the new growing Swedish right wing patriot party. The new party was called racist, supremacist.... you know the spiel.

This is changing and fast. The center right parties are now suddenly willing to form a coalition government with the Patriot party. The main reason for this is new taken poles are showing if there is a new election the established Swedish political parties are going to lose big time and the new right wing party is set to gain their lost power.

It looks like the PTB in Sweden are being forced to play nice or lose it all.

To me this is kind of mind boggling. Some of the lefties in my family love to point to Nordic European countries, especially Sweden as some sort of Socialist Utopia. They look at me totally confused when told they are very capitalistic and own personal firearms. Well maybe not as many guns per capita or family by Texas standards. ;)

STOCKHOLM, June 24 (Reuters) - For years, Jimmie Akesson travelled Sweden talking to tiny far-right crowds, belting out nationalist anthems with the pop group Adorable Kids and being frozen out of mainstream politics.

That has all changed. After giving his right-wing, populist Sweden Democrat party a makeover, he played a leading role in parliament passing a vote of no-confidence vote in centre-left Prime Minister Stefan Lofven this week.

Now with 60 seats in the 349-seat parliament, the Sweden Democrats are being wooed by parties which once shunned them because of their roots in the white-supremacist fringe and hard-line anti-immigration policies.

With the likelihood of a snap election growing, the Sweden Democrats will be in a position to be part of any centre-right coalition that comes to power - or at the least, help define its policies. read more

"Ousting the prime minister for the first time in Swedish history is of course a triumph we value very highly," Akesson told Reuters in written comments after Monday's no-confidence vote.

"Of course, it felt very good. Good for me as a Sweden Democrat, but above all good for Sweden's citizens."

Lofven has a week to resign or call a new election and is holding talks on rebuilding his minority coalition.

"We hope that this leads to a snap election so that the chance for real change is even better," Akesson said. "We head into a potential election campaign with strength."

Akesson, now 42, joined the party in 1995 and has dragged it into the mainstream.
A burning torch party symbol mirroring that of the neo-fascist British National Front has been replaced with a flower.

Some of the party's more radical policies, such as the reintroduction of capital punishment and limits on non-Nordic adoptions, have been dropped.
Dozens of openly racist party members have been ejected.

After gaining its first seats in parliament in 2010, it won 17.5% of votes cast in the last election, three years ago.

The party's rise reflects a backlash in Sweden against decades of liberal immigration policies and disillusionment with multi-culturalism.

It coincides with factors such as globalisation and rising inequality that are mirrored across Europe from Denmark to Hungary and Germany.

"We have a new political landscape," Prime Minister Stefan Lofven, a Social Democrat, said after the no-confidence vote.

Sweden has abandoned its open-door policy on asylum seekers amid worries over suburban segregation, gang wars and the highest rate of shooting deaths among young men in Europe. Almost all parties now back a restrictive asylum policy.

Immigration and law order remain top issues for voters, according to an opinion poll released this week by Novus market research group.

An Ipsos poll for daily Dagens Nyheter on June 22 gave a centre-right bloc comprising the Moderate Party, Christian Democrats and Sweden Democrats a slim majority, if an election were held today.

"It is assumed now that the Sweden Democrats are an essential part of the parliamentary majority of a right-wing prime minister," Nicholas Aylott, Associate Professor of political science at Sodertorn University, said.
"Until not so long ago, that was not obvious at all. Now it is."

Akesson said this month he would want his party's influence over any future right-wing government to reflect the size of its vote. That would imply a hardening of some policies, particularly on immigration.

Akesson has called the spread of Islam in Sweden "the biggest threat since the Second World War". The Sweden Democrats have said they want many of those who have been granted asylum in Sweden in recent years to leave.

Red Baron this is from 1964? Those troops are/were Baby Boomers raised by the Greatest Generation. They grew up with first hand histories of the NAZI occupation of Europe. Switzerland was neutral in WII.

I fail to see the connection of Swiss forces to Swedish?

There's an old story about a Swiss officer talking to a German officer on the Swiss border during WWII. The German officer mentioned that the German army out numbered the Swiss army by 5 to 1.....to which the Swiss officer stated "that means every Swiss soldier only needs to fire five rounds!"

There is a reason that they have remained independent and neutral for HUNDREDS of years. Every Swiss city has enough bomb shelters and supplies for every citizen in them. Their air force can hide in their tunnels and land and take off on their roads. All bridges and tunnels are mined. They can completely cut off their country from every outsider! Their soldiers take home their main battle rifles after military service and are reserves well into their sixties.

Surprisingly, they don't have problem with break ins or invasions. Gee I wonder why?

Lots of stories exist re the Swiss military.
Years ago I visited Switzerland several times.
On one of those "times" I did observe a small jet come out of a tunnel in the side of a mountain.
I think it was around Interlaken

According to the video a Swedish version of the MAGA movement swelled in numbers and took much of the vote in a recent election. This may be confusing to some but it's called The Swedish Democrat Party. According to Dr. Steve; "This is the first time in forty years the Moderates didn't come in second to the left wing Social Democrats.". That this could happen in Sweden of all places has to be a dot.

It appears many in Sweden are sick of leftist policy and the resulting problems caused by them.

Seems that there are economic problems in a bunch of European countries, and the leader of a powerful minority party in one of them is asking for a list of prominent Jewish citizens who might be security risks...

It's been a while since they killed each other in boxcar lots on the other side of the pond, but only a fool believes that it can never happen again.

The majority of Swedes still favor a modified form of Democratic Socialism, they see the State as taking the place of the village throughout most of their history. When we were there, their system worked pretty well for NATIVE Swedes, who were brought up to go to FAMILY FIRST when there was a problem, the government was there as a backup. It was considered rude and boorish to ask for help if your family could provide it instead.

This made it very difficult for newcomers, they were just starting to bring in immigrants, and Nightwolf and I couldn't even get a phone for five weeks because we didn't have Swedish parents or relatives to co-sign for us. The whole system was set up that, especially for people in their 20s and 30s; after that, the State services like phones or banks figured you would be "old enough" not to need a cosigner - we had to buy our car in CASH, because not being Swedish, his parents couldn't cosign for it. The vendor was shocked when we brought it in.

Anyway, since that time, we all know what happened, over 25 years of massive 3rd world immigration much of it from extremely poor (and often Islamic) Middle Eastern and African countries. Little money was spent to help them adjust, they were just dumped in apartment complexes and left to cope. The language classes were a joke (I know I took some of them) and the Swedes just thought their way of life was so wonderful that all the children would just turn into dark little versions of Swedes.

Instead, they have an entire generation of alienated, unhappy, and many very angry young people (especially young men) born in Sweden with Swedish passports as well as thousands of military-aged young "refugee" men, that came in just a few years ago and while a few are doing just fine, most are not.

Swedes are sick of this, they went from being the safest country in Europe where a woman could walk with a friend at 3 am on the pedestrian paths and be certain to walk home to having one of the highest levels of rape and assault in Europe. There are entire neighborhoods that the police won't enter (or won't unless they have no choice) which are culturally not part of Sweden. The government won't even let people really talk about the problem or that 90 percent of rapes and a great deal of crime comes out of those enclaves - not everyone in them is a criminal but pretending there is no problem has not worked.

So people have finally had it, they want criminals deported, they want the ones born in Sweden jailed and taken off the streets, and they want the end of "no-go" zones (which was already starting to happen but not nearly to the degree that it needs to). They want to stop or greatly slow down their intake of "refugees" and do a better job of making sure they are real refugees, especially women and small children (not 19-year-old men).

Sorry, this is a bit long, but this situation has been brewing for a long time. I suspect most Swedes still want cradle-to-grave social care and a State Health Service, but they are no longer willing to stand by and see all that destroyed by people who don't understand it nor do they appreciate it. They are happy to give real refuge to those in real need, but not those who are just going to throw it back in their faces and destroy their country.
