A bit of an SOEish tangent, but I have always thought that that there were 10 to 25 players behind the curtail that if turned or removed from the board in one fashion or another would change the in public political situation significantly.

Those CEOs crowing on MSM about "doing something" pretty much added themselves to all sorts of different people's lists. This more with regards to SOCCOM IMHO definitely changes things as others have noted. Whether things happen out in the open or in the back room next is still to be seen.

Well, I still like the idea of a Space Force SOCOM... Space Marines? Mobile Infantry? Yeah, they could work in the future... The idea of starships carrying SOCOM forces, to stick and move, rather than to invade and/or occupy, well, that would be in my wheel house... SOCOM just grabs the mind, and won’t let it go... Think of a sniper, not an artillery battery... Precision, lethality, NOT geared to holding ground... THAT’s where Space Marines or Mobile Infantry would be needed...

Deep respect for all branches... Third generation Navy. Of our brothers and sisters in uniform, “Finest Kind,” as we’d say in Maine...

Stick and Move... That’s what I’d like... Hit ‘em where they least expect it, then, didi mau... Small, fast ships, heavy on weapons, and a platoon or so of SOCOM troops... What could be better? I’d leave the Heavies to those that like fleet actions...

Ah, to sleep, perchance to dream... Maybe, as Seeker22 says, reversing aging could be possible, under Full Disclosure... If so, I’m serious... If they’d have me, I’d sign-up for the Space Navy. Whatever contract they‘d offer... Join the Space Navy, and see the Universe! Sounds great to me!

Figs, Livia used poison figs, but yes I think you called this one exactly right; I was shocked when I saw that Trump's orders were not being obeyed as was Nightwolf - we figured at that point either the coup was already over and/or things were about to get really serious (and it looks like it is option two).
