Pray for them! I hope the CEOs cave quickly.
They won't, but they'll have no staff to command and hilarity ensues from there.
Pray for them! I hope the CEOs cave quickly.
I don’t feel sorry for the travelers one bit. They are vaccinated and think the unvaccinated should die…
Screw them…They have pushed the mandates…
They made their bed they can lay in it…
Hognutz, your sort of making a broad statement and it simply is not true. I have 5 family members stranded in Bozeman, Mt. and none of the 5 have had the vaccine. Two of them are teachers and still have refused the vaccine. Not every vaccinated person thinks the unvaxed should die. What a pack of untruths your spreading around.I don’t feel sorry for the travelers one bit. They are vaccinated and think the unvaccinated should die…

URGENT: A Southwest Airlines pilot explains why you will not hear anything about vaccine mandates from his union - and why Southwest has more flexibility than it admits to stand up to the White House
Essentially, the union cannot organize or even acknowledge the sickout, because doing so would make it an illegal job action. Years ago, Southwest and its pilots had a rough negotiation, and the union would not even let the pilots internally discuss the possibility of working-to-rule (which would have slowed Southwest to a crawl). But at the moment the pilots don’t even have to talk to each other about what they’re doing. The anger internally - not just among pilots but other Southwest workers - is enormous. The tough prior negotiations notwithstanding, Southwest has a history of decent labor relations, and workers believe the company should stand up for them against the mandate. Telling pilots in particular to comply or face termination has backfired. — Meanwhile, Southwest has more flexibility than it has acknowledged. Federal contracts represent about 3 percent of its revenue, but even the Biden administration CANNOT alter existing contracts (please note, I have not checked this, though it seems reasonable); Southwest is only at risk of losing future contracts. This pilot believes that the fact that the airlines received $25 billion in no-strings-attached cash for “payroll support” last year (as well another $25 billion in loans) has made them particularly reluctant to stand up to the Biden administration. Southwest’s CEO, Gary Kelly, may be in an especially tough spot since he is the head of the airline lobbying group. — Finally: This pilot says he loves Southwest and finds the crisis painful but feels that if this is the only way Americans can stand up to these mandates, then let the chips fall. |
Right before I read your post my guy just said (regarding the pilots standing up to the jab/job), “good for them! This should be ‘hug a pilot day’!”I wish there was some way to show our support, and gratitude, for what they're doing; it's the most hopeful I've felt about the issue in a while.
I hope it spreads like wildfire, even to the point of shutting down every major industry in this country. Maybe that's what it's going to take to send a message to this tyrannical administration. And if we all have to experience some inconveniences and discomfort for a bit, so be it. All of us here should already be set to shelter in place if need be.
Typical. Anyone has the right to quit their job. It does not make them a terrorist. Policies have CONSEQUENCES!!

Southwest may only be the tip of the iceberg. American Airlines may be next up on the list, with the union representing its pilots warning the company could face a staffing shortage if they implement a stringent vaccine mandate. So, things could get very interesting, right as we enter the holiday season.“Make no mistake about it – due to months of staffing issues and inefficient scheduling practices we have been operating at a higher than normal operational risk,” the union’s safety committee told members in a post on Saturday.
It said reports of fatigue, which require pilots not to fly, are triple historic norms.
“All of these challenges have led to an added distraction in the cockpit,” it said. “This week’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate announcement by the Company only exacerbates the situation.”
On Friday, the labor union asked a federal court in Dallas to temporarily block the implementation of the vaccine mandate and other Covid-19 policies, arguing the company took unilateral decisions that require negotiations with the union.
Its occurred to me that we may be playing into the RatBastards' hands with resistance; it gives them the fuel to ultimately label us terrorist (and remember you can kill terrorist without due process-)---as well as to blame us for the shut downs, empty store shelves energy costs and every other thing that goes wrong.
But we have to stand together...and, as much as I value prayer, I do not start or end a day without it, we may need to find a way to do even more to show it's not an industry here or there that is saying NO, but the so far silent moral majority of the land.
Pray for them! I hope the CEOs cave quickly.

I honestly believe that is the bottom line here. It is to separate those who will not conform to the agenda in the grand scheme of things.
Marx would approve this. Don't do the will of your "betters" who decide what is best for you results in a "non-personing" you?If we fire you for not taking the jab you deserve to lose everything
What, are they doing?Media this morning living there ass off this morning.
