SHOCKING VIDEO: How Obama Got Elected -- The Incredible Ignorance of the Obamatons

On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.

On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.

No mysteria here......The question is have we the United States reached a tipping point? All those people just voted themselves a raise. Do you think they are going back off or stop?

I don't know why it's such a shock. I think most of us knew how it was gonna turn out no matter what. Look at the people interviewed who admitted to being conned into registering under multiple names. Now we all have to live with the fallout. :shk:

I don't know (personally) which was worse--those who voted for Obama knowing full well who he was and what he stood for or those who knew nothing but his name and race.

Oh, my God.

"I don't think I am as informed as I thought I was......but I still don't think I would change my vote".

No. Of course you wouldn't.

Then again, what did you expect? The election for POTUS is nothing more now than a two year edition of American Idol.

why are you shocked? This is what democracy is all about, allowing the stupid to outvote and thus overrule the intelligent so that the elite can rule.

There is a guy, Paul Craig Roberts, a conservative/libertarin economist who I have read for nearly 13 years. A quickie bio:
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts PhD economics, a former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury and former associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, has been reporting shocking cases of prosecutorial abuse for two decades. A new edition of his book, The Tyranny of Good Intentions, co-authored with Lawrence Stratton, a documented account of how Americans lost the protection of law, has just been released by Random House.

He hasn't written much on the economy the last few years, as he's mostly spent his time on government encroachment and abuses, etc.

Anyway, I've normally found myself agreeing with him 90% of the time I am not learning something new from him. Then one day about 3 1/2 years ago he said something that just REALLY ticked me off.

I fumed on it for about 3 days, trying to find some polite way to tell this guy how wrong he was (I had written him on several of his columns, and he had answered a few, as well). Couldn't quite do it, but what he said just wouldn't stop turning in my head. I finally realized that the reason he'd upset me was that as much as I didn't want to agree with him, I was slowly coming round to the fact he was probably right. I just didn't like it very much. Here it is:

"It may be that the American public are no longer educated, or interested enough to sustain a free society."

In short, it's been a battle of wits, and it's looking like the nit-wits have won.

And then to bring home the point, along comes this blog post over at Lew Rockwell.com this morning.

America the Illiterate
Posted by Karen DeCoster at November 17, 2008 07:01 PM

We live in two Americas. One America, now the minority, functions in a print-based, literate world. It can cope with complexity and has the intellectual tools to separate illusion from truth.

The other America, which constitutes the majority, exists in a non-reality-based belief system. This America, dependent on skillfully manipulated images for information, has severed itself from the literate, print-based culture. It cannot differentiate between lies and truth. It is informed by simplistic, childish narratives and clichés. It is thrown into confusion by ambiguity, nuance and self-reflection.

This divide, more than race, class or gender, more than rural or urban, believer or nonbeliever, red state or blue state, has split the country into radically distinct, unbridgeable and antagonistic entities.

There are over 42 million American adults, 20 percent of whom hold high school diplomas, who cannot read, as well as the 50 million who read at a fourth- or fifth-grade level. Nearly a third of the nation’s population is illiterate or barely literate. And their numbers are growing by an estimated 2 million a year. But even those who are supposedly literate retreat in huge numbers into this image-based existence. A third of high school graduates, along with 42 percent of college graduates, never read a book after they finish school. Eighty percent of the families in the United States last year did not buy a book.

This column by Chris Hedges is wonderful, spectacular, and so bang on. Warning - Christians might offended by the target of his blame (I think he's too simplistic and off-base on that), but otherwise, this is a stellar, hardcore column. His mention of the vocabulary tests applied to the transcripts of past presidential debates is jaw-dropping, even though it's painfully obvious.

Remarks from CBS Sunday Morning

I can only hope we find God again before it is too late!!

download

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.
My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees.
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.
I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
Are you laughing yet?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein

I haven't watched the vid yet, but I'll say it again.

It isn't about Obama, it's all about the neocons. The country is fed-up with the crap that Bush shoved down our throats.

If the Dems ran Bozo the Clown, he would have beat McBush, or any other Rep for that matter...

So all the people who voted for Obama are idiots.

What does that say about the people who voted for Dubya, the Idiot Emperor?

I avoid the malls now, even on weekdays when I know that most of the little bastards are in school. Not worth the hassle. Online is more comfortable, and I can shop naked if I want to.

A herd of voting idiots. They inflict their idiocy on us all and now the dem/repub partisans are going to take us all down with them.

Other than indoctrination and conditioning, why any individual would want to surrender their individualism and accept these people as their "equals" by joining in the madness of their election system is beyond me.

The truth is that many, many people are better off as slaves, and that's why the U.S. is going in the direction it is.

Our troops fight and die for this s**t? The real fight is here at home AGAINST the dem/repub party, their partisans and idiocy.

"and I can shop naked if I want to."

Well, if you're happy, we're happy.

OTOH, do you really believe every single person who voted for Obama did so after careful research and analysis?

Because my guess is that some people voted for him because he's a Democrat. Some voted for him because he's black. Some voted for him because they agree with his positions. Some voted for him because he's not Bush, or Bush-lite. Some voted for him just for the novelty.

As poorly informed as these Obamabots obviously are, it's a wonder that any of them have sufficient gray matter with which to remember to draw the next breath. :lkick:

Dumbed Down

:kk1:

Looks like the change over of our schrewls from places of education to places of indoctrination by the ultra-liberal/socialist NEA and many even more leftist college/university professors is complete. The children of the "me" generation have hatched into voters that can be easily manipulated to cast their collective votes as ever the propaganda machine influences them to vote. Sadly, these sheeple will not even know why they voted and perhaps not even IF they voted, but they will be resolute at voting the "party line".

Resultant: Obama

:bhd:

It ain't over yet, the first communist president will soon be inaugurated and he may not even be eligible to be president.

That was pretty funny (and dismaying), but I suspect a similar sampling of McCain voters would reveal the same kind of appalling ignorance.
