SEPTEMBER 2018

4th - 5th
Plant seedbeds and flower gardens. Good days for transplanting. Fine planting days for fall potatoes, turnips, onions, carrots, beets, and other root crops.

6th - 9th
Clear ground, turn sod, or kill plant pests.

10th - 11th
Excellent for sowing grains, hay, and forage crops. Plant flowers. Good days for planting peas, beans, tomatoes, peppers, and other aboveground crops in southern Florida, Texas, and California.

12th - 13th
Start seedbeds. Excellent time for planting aboveground crops that can be planted now, including leafy vegetables which will do well.

14th - 16th
Clear fencerows, woodlots, and fields, but do no planting.

17th - 18th
Any aboveground crops that can be planted now will do well.

19th - 21st
Poor planting days. Kill plant pests.

22nd - 23rd
Extra good for vine crops. Favorable days for planting aboveground crops.

24th - 26th
A poor time to plant.

27th - 28th
Good days for transplanting. Good days for planting root crops.

29th - 30th
Seeds planted now tend to rot in ground.


OCTOBER 2018
1st - 2nd
Start seedbeds and flower gardens. Good days for transplanting. Best planting days for fall potatoes, turnips, onions, carrots, beets, and other root crops where climate is suitable.
3rd - 6th
A most barren period, best for killing plant pests or doing chores around the farm.
7th - 9th
Fine for sowing grains, hay, and forage crops. Plant flowers. First day is a favorable day for planting root crops. Last two days are favorable days for planting beans, peas, squash, sweet corn, tomatoes, and other aboveground crops in southern Florida, Texas, and California.
10th - 11th
Start seedbeds. Favorable days for planting aboveground crops, and leafy vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, kale, and celery where climate is suitable
12th - 13th
Do clearing and plowing, but no planting
14th - 16th
Plant tomatoes, peas, beans, and other aboveground crops, indoors in the North and outdoors in lower South.
17th - 18th
Poor planting days. Kill poison ivy, weeds, clear land, but no planting.
19th - 21st
Extra good for vine crops. Favorable days for planting aboveground crops where climate is suitable.
22nd - 23rd
Barren days, do no planting.
24th - 25th
Good days for transplanting. Good days for planting beets, carrots, onions, turnips, and other hardy root crops where climate is suitable.
26th - 27th
Poor days for planting, seeds tend to rot in ground.
28th - 29th
Start seedbeds and flower gardens. Good days for transplanting. Best planting days for fall potatoes, turnips, onions, carrots, beets, and other root crops where climate is suitable.
30th - 31st
A most barren period, best for killing plant pests or doing chores around the farm.

NOVEMBER 2018
1st - 3rd
Grub out weeds, briars, and other plant pests.
