WELD,ME: small, clean, 15yo custom log cabin on 85A of remote but convenient forest land, surrounded by another 1,000A remote state park forest land. 1/3 mile in from paved town rd on its own private 2wd dirt rd; 10 mi north of Dixfield; 2 hr north of Portland; 30 min from Rumford or Farmington. One mile from lakeside Mt Blue State Park with awesome Lake Webb beach and boat launch. Next to Tumbledown Mt range... unique pristine beauty.

3 bedrooms; open kitchen, dining, living area. Propane heat, cook, lights, with small solar lighting backup. Odor free composting toilet and manually-fed shower. High loft with log purlins and book-paged ceiling boards. Utter silence, pure night darkness, no traffic sounds, just owls & distant loons.

Tillable one acre and two acre clearings, easily expandable, good soil. Three streams and several wild springs. Access road easily to secure & monitor. Tons of wild game. Marketable logs have been selectively harvested, leaving behind lifetime supply of standing firewood trees. Flat, with many trails through property. Several sites for more camps-campers.

Nice, wish I was twenty years younger I'd seriously consider this option. What's the cell service like out there, those working from home will want to know.

Love it! If only we could tolerate the cold. We had owned a small 2 bedroom cabin with 10 acres, 7 wooded with an acre pond and 2 acre meadow. It was our little piece of heaven on a gravel road up in the hills. Winters were long and the snow deep. The cabin had a 400' drive and the house was invisible due to the trees.

Retirement led us to Texas. The sun is good.

Best wishes Colonel

How is the growing season? I tend to be wary of the length of season that far north. Input on the actual land there would be awesome. :)

Sorry, I should have looked on a map first. If you have no luck with preppers I can float this to a more diverse group. North of Norway, ME is a no go for DH so we are out.
