The likely reaction of Russia to the entry of Ukraine and Georgia into NATO is revealed
Already today, NATO from Estonia can get rocket artillery to St. Petersburg

SHARE
The decision on the membership of Ukraine and Georgia in NATO has already been taken. This was announced on Friday in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica by Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. He clarified that the problem is only in terms. They have not yet been determined and depend on how quickly these countries can bring their armed forces up to NATO standards.

What might these timeframes be? What threatens us if Ukraine and Georgia are still accepted into NATO? And what might Russia's response be? These questions were answered by a leading Russian military expert, a member of the Expert Council of the Collegium of the Military-Industrial Commission, the editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, retired colonel Viktor Murakhovsky.
“NATO standards” is such a limitless concept that countries and armies that absolutely do not meet any standards can enter the Alliance, the expert says. - Here the decision is made according to the situation that is beneficial specifically for the US and NATO.

Did when the Baltic countries - the former Soviet republics joined NATO, did they meet at least some of its standards? Of course not. The same applies to the countries of Eastern Europe - former members of the Warsaw Pact, for example, Bulgaria, Romania. They, too, were inconsistent with the military structure, decision-making processes, and command and control of NATO. Not to mention equipment and weapons - they entered the bloc with old Soviet weapons. That is, when it was beneficial for the United States, nothing stopped them from accepting these countries into NATO. So all the talk about standards and alignment with Alliance structures is just a figure of speech.
Murakhovsky refused to openly comment on specific military and military-technical measures that Russia could take if Georgia and Ukraine join NATO, because, according to him, the situation here largely depends on Moscow's political decisions. At the same time, he clarified that a “remote threat” already exists on the borders of Russia.

- From the center of St. Petersburg to Estonia 180 km. And now Estonia, along with other countries, is buying the MLRS and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems from the United States, which calmly cover the entire St. Petersburg. There are generally less than 70 km to Pskov. And when we talk about the fact that such countries as Ukraine and Georgia are appearing in NATO, then for us this simply poses a new direct threat. In addition to all those strike weapons and missile systems that already worry us today, a ground military group will be present at our borders. The enemy will be practically in the same place where he stood in the 17th century, when he threatened Smolensk, Moscow.
Naturally, we are not ready to look at everything that happens indifferently. Our retaliatory measures on this score are not yet pronounced aloud and are not submitted for general discussion. But I will say this: we will focus on an asymmetrical response that will create a threat directly to the United States itself, and not to some kind of Ukraine.

Housecarl, Sweden lets the Muslims RAPE AT-WILL, and allows no-go zones, explosions and dozens of murders etc.
They would do better to patrol Stockholm
:D
That has been changing a lot over the last three years, maybe not fast enough and they haven't started mass deportations the way Denmark has (hint Sweden has more "native-born" Swedes who share no Swedish culture). But the last couple of governments have started pushing back, there have been attempts to end or at least bring the "No-Go" zones into line (using cops and I think sometimes the military).

They have a long way to go, but much of the public has finally had enough, add an actual outside threat like war with Russia (even if it isn't directly on the Swedish Border) and I think the patience that still exist will totally end.

For one thing, Sweden will extend the reinstated draft to everyone and if the "New Swedes" do not fall in line, they could find themselves in big trouble, very quickly.

Swedes will take a lot, until suddenly they won't and you dont' want to be there when they finally explode - sort of like the Irish (only the Irish have somewhat shorter fuses if the issue is personal).

I have no idea of that
A question to the Doomer since you were on the line back in the 1970's.

At what time of day did the US intel expect the Russians to invade West Germany?
I have no idea of that at all. What I do remember, vividly is one of our line tank company commanders, when giving a briefing to us told us our combat life expectancy was under ONE MINUTE. He also said NATO expected to go tactical nukes within the first 72 hours as the ruskie 40,000 TANKS would overwhelm us. Baumnholder was designated as a relief and fill in force. We would not fight as a line company, but just be stuffed in a tank platoon here and there, likely massacred before we got anywhere near the FULDA GAP. :eleph:

Yep, 20 and with a life expectancy under 60 seconds, ah the GOOD OLE DAYS!

KIND OF LIKE THE CURRENT WOKE HORDES UNDER THE COMMAND OF OUR ELITE GENERAL GENOCIDE. NATO AND THE US MILITARY WILL BE MASSACRED AKA CUSTER STYLE. :kaid:

Oreally

Right from the start
how did this clown Stoltenberg ever get to be head of NATO?

was he ever mil? gov?

i would bet he would piss his pants under fire.

we are so screwed.

ETA: according to my ww2 hero uncle, everyone pisses their pants under fire..but still

I think our signal that it is on will be a "Ukrainian" attack on the Donbass using US Javelins against a church full of "Russian" orphans. That will probably be the last we hear as I believe that Russia will launch cyberattacks here with the goal of shutting down the internet and infrastructure.

My sunshine worry isnt the West or Russia or even China. They have a vested interest in keeping it conventional. Its Iran, NK taking advantage that I worry about. Also someone like India if China attacks. They panic and hit the button. As long as the Russians dont push beyond the Ukraine or even the Baltics into Europe proper it will stay conventional. Same on the other side if we dont then push into Russia.

I was thinking very similar thoughts.

1. If this kicks off and the USA gets involved on any level, expect with certainty cyberattacks in the USA. Be prepared for anything on that level.

and

2. Look for Iran to take advantage of the distraction. I'm not sure NK will, they may sit it out, but I don't trust that Iran won't move in the middle east (israel and iraq). (and NK and Iran may also join in on the cyberattacks mentioned in #1)

Repubblica news

Your post seems extremely important (and it did not seem to display properly when I tried to quote it in this reply, so I'm including it again here:

View: https://twitter.com/ASBMilitary/status/1481907886393593856

From Twitter link: "URGENT: NATO has made a decision to admit Ukraine and Georgia into the alliance, but did not set a deadline yet—Stoltenberg said in an interview with Repubblica news. "

As far as I can tell, this (below) is the article source of this comment:

Using Google translate, there is this passage:

And if Kiev asked to join NATO permanently, what would the answer be? Yes or no?
"Ukraine has already applied for membership and we have decided to work on it. To support it in reforms, in the modernization of the armed forces according to our standards. It is clear that we are open. In 2008 we established that Ukraine and Georgia will become members, but not. When.

And here is the video of what he said (at the twitter link):

If this is just a rehash of something that has been known for a long time, then it may be not be as big of a deal as I first thought when I first read it.

I'm seeing news articles here and there this afternoon reporting that US intel is thinking an invasion of Ukraine could happen between mid-January and mid-February.

Makes me think back to last summer and how intel estimates re: prospects of a Taliban takeover in Afghanistan were so quickly proven to be ridiculously out of touch...and shockingly optimistic.

I agree. I would like to have some confirmation on all of this. Is it something new, or something old? Timing is everything.

Let me just say that I'm confused. If Ukraine has recently, like today, been admitted into NATO, why is Russia still planning to invade? They would be invading a NATO country now. Could someone explain this to me?

ABC Nightly news was parroting the false flag narrative. Yes Martha, the Russians might even kill their own troops….good grief…although it was funny to watch David Muir try to explain what a false flag was.
