Anti-tank weapons like Javelins and whatever the UK is now flying to Ukraine aren't worth anything unless the force using them knows how to deploy them effectively against organized militaries. That takes doctrine, training, etc. Otherwise they are just more loot for the invader.

The Ukrainians produce some of the most advanced ATGMs around. This is a symbolic move in support for a state that develops, produces and globally sells arms to much of the rest of the world. Stugna-P is standard issue for UA army units, all trained in its use
If I'd criticise anything about the arms shipment discussions is the symbolic dimension that looks, like sanctions, largely like attempts to be seen to be doing something. Especially since UA builds its own stuff

Spot-on. The US and UK systems provide some niche advanced capabilities, but the act is far more political; and weak tea at that.

It’s all about the gas. Germany is way way too dependent on Russian gas. Quite motivating for them to cooperate.I wonder about Germany? Has Germany cut a deal with Russia to betray the Ukraine?, or NATO?
Same here. I’m downwind of it. Ugh!!!NEVADA TEST SITE? WTF? That is SUPER CLOSE TO ME. Ugh. (Shuffles off to check preps)

State Duma deputy proposed to propose a nuclear strike on the United States Russian news EN
Sugar Mizzy January 16, 2022
State Duma deputy Yevgeny Fedorov proposes a particularly preventive strike on US nuclear security as one of the impacts on Washington. He expressed his opinion on air. YouTube– Channel “National course”.
“The third option is a warning strike with nuclear weapons, maybe even without the danger of an attack, but simply strategic missiles at the Nevada test site. This is a training ground where US citizens live, there are no civilians there, and especially if you warn two or three days in advance, then this is a perfectly acceptable action of serious intentions, ”Fyodorov said. In his opinion, Russia has the authority to do so.

Among other features of the impact on the United States, the deputy named flight missions and bomb strikes in the opinion of laboratories with biological needs. Fedorov believes that this will affect US citizens and shows that the threat of retaliation from Russia is not a bluff. According to the MP, as a result of this, the impact on the Australian economy is expected.
Earlier, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, said that to force Kiev to peace could be the bombing of Ukraine, which can be found in the meeting. The politician recalled that strong attacks on the territory developed in Ukraine on New Year’s Eve.
Its OK because he would give us a couple days warning. So, he wants to nuke the Nevada desert and... affect the Australian economy? What did I miss here?
I don't think the US would stand for the Russians bombing even empty desert in North America. There definitely would be retaliation - maybe we would set off a device nearish to a large city (like they would have done to Las Vegas) in an area near the Urals. How about Perm?
Well thats it then. At this point we are probably too late to move a lot of heavy US units in.
It would be a very polite way of starting a major war, that's for sure. Its OK because he would give us a couple days warning.
Beware. Furious adult speech to follow. ADULT speech.
why ever do ya think I asked about REFORGER or REFORGER-LITE 2 weeks ago??
Butt ****ing dicklicking idiots of the Admin-Admenstruation sat on their thumbs for the last 2 effing weeks and they COULD have been reinforcing Poland, and the rest of the Baltics with a REFORGER-LITE so when push (yesterday or tomorrow) came to shove they would have options to use(beyond kneeling down and asking politely for the Sov's to unsheathe their undoubtedly weighty prongs.
Thats polite compared to what they deserve. Putin saw the weakness and is making his move. At this point there isnt much that will stop him. Even if we did move units in it looks like at this point the Germans are taking their ball and going home. We would have to bring them into Poland or up thru the Black Sea. Our prepo armor is in Germany and the Netherlands I believe. Dont imagine the Germans will let that move if we fly in troops.Beware. Furious adult speech to follow. ADULT speech.

The Germans don’t want to freeze in the dark this winter.
There is one being built in Poland but it wont be ready and filled until 2023-2024.If we did NOT prepo in Poland as well as Estonia and Lithuania (esp Estonia, with Ilves Toomas) over the past 12 years we are/were Dufi.
I had several Twitter discussions with Toomas Ilves of Estonia during the last several years of his presidency. He would have been (and was) a strong ally.
bet that is high on someone’s priority target listThere is one being built in Poland but it wont be ready and filled until 2023-2024.

The infrastructure that existed in the early 20th century for heating buildings doesn't exist now the same way it did then. Everyone is using electric or NG for heating, not burning coal in stoves located in their houses. They didn't have Natural Gas in WWI or WWII, and somehow kept from freezing their kanackkers off- I think NG is just a convenient excuse. Surely the mechanical, precise Krauts have system redundancy?
They have a few coal plants but I believe they all being phased out. IIRC Germany isnt as bad as the UK but all of Europe is getting rid of evil coal and switching to Russian natural gas. They didn't have Natural Gas in WWI or WWII, and somehow kept from freezing their kanackkers off- I think NG is just a convenient excuse. Surely the mechanical, precise Krauts have system redundancy?
Back then they had little kerosene or coal heaters and smaller demand for electricity run off coal. Now they are way too green for that. Heat, cook, electricity requires a solid flow of NG for their current infrastructure. Loss of access to an adequate or even survivable quantity of NG would be a disaster these daysThey didn't have Natural Gas in WWI or WWII, and somehow kept from freezing their kanackkers off- I think NG is just a convenient excuse. Surely the mechanical, precise Krauts have system redundancy?
It's a ridiculous statement in itself.
If Russia was to send 1 nuke, to the Nevada desert. It would trigger a full Nuke response.
Then again... Brandon is taking a nap...
Guam hopes not.Could they be talking about the USS Nevada that just went to Guam?
Putin doesn't want NATO right on the border of Russia. We wouldn't want China on our northern or southern border either. What's going on over their isn't our concern. Maybe if the Europeans want to poke the bear, they should know for certain that they're on their own.
The biggest problem for us is that Joey 46 and his prancing pansies don't want to appear to be weak. This is not the time to look like a threat. One, Putin knows we aren't a threat. Two, we have NOTHING to gain by getting involved.
Getting involved in that pissing contest makes as much sense as getting involved in the Great War.
Kyiv, Ukraine 14 day weather forecast
Forecasted weather conditions the coming 2 weeks for Kyivwww.timeanddate.com
Ukraine has been using and training with the Javelin for several years. Russians are concerned about them as shown by the improvised "roof" armor they are installing.

But we have a WEAK Resident. They are not afraid of us. I really hate ALL the Dems in this administration. They have destroyed this country in every conceivable way. A POX ON THEM!!!!So, he wants to nuke the Nevada desert and... affect the Australian economy? What did I miss here?
