SCI Researchers take new approach towards Alzheimers

I give up.
OK, this is obviously written probably by someone from India who hasn't quite grasped all of English just yet.

BUT, read it. It's easy and makes a lot of sense once you discount the author's little faux pas (s).

In a recent strategy, scientists on the College of California, San Francisco, have geared toward treating Alzheimer’s illness utilizing new know-how. The strategy entails focussing on microglia, a kind of cell that stabilises the mind by eliminating broken neurons and proteins which can be typically related to dementia and different mind sicknesses. Whereas the adjustments in these cells have been linked to Alzheimer’s illness, they continue to be to be understudied. Researchers have now used a brand new CRISPR know-how that allows them to manage these microglia cells. This, in accordance with the workforce, can result in a brand new strategy to the remedy of Alzheimer’s illness.

Within the mind, extraordinary immune cells can’t get by way of the blood-brain barrier. That is the place microglia cells come into play. They act because the immune system of the mind and assist flush out the waste and toxins whereas preserving the neurons functioning correctly. When these microglia cells start to lose their manner, it ends in mind irritation and may harm the neurons and their networks.

The microglia cells may even find yourself eradicating the synapses between neurons below sure circumstances. This course of is a traditional a part of mind growth in childhood and adolescent years. However, in adults, this may result in disastrous results on the mind.

The workforce, led by Martin Kampmann, PhD, geared as much as detect the genes that have been answerable for particular states of the microglial exercise. With this, they may change the genes on and off and put the dislodged cells again of their place.

They made microglia cells by way of stem cells donated by human volunteers and confirmed that they functioned like their extraordinary human counterparts. The workforce then got down to develop a brand new platform that mixes a type of CRISPR and permits the researchers to modify particular person genes on and off.

With this, the workforce was capable of zero in on the genes that have been answerable for the cell’s potential to outlive and proliferate. The genes additionally impacted how actively a cell produces inflammatory substances and the aggression with which a cell prunes synapses. The detection of the kind of genes helped the researchers efficiently relaxation them and convert the disease-ridden cell right into a wholesome ones.

“Our examine gives a blueprint for a brand new strategy to remedy,” he stated. “It is a bit of a holy grail,” stated Kampmann. He’s the senior creator of the examine revealed in Nature Neuroscience.

I hope someone figures it out. Took my Dad, but it was a full 8 year process. He took their voodoo pills, but I don't see where it helped, infact made him feel like shit. I'm 10 years away from his age when it started. I don't know how hereditary it is, especially from father to son.

Been hearing this in some jobs. I forget why but Alzheimer's and Parkinson's research ended up sharing information across the silos. Turned up a lot of new things for Alzheimer's research. Amazing what is revealed when you break down those silos. But part of it is how Alzheimer's was viewed by docs in comparison to Parkinson's. So multiple new approaches are now being looked at.

Some researchers started referring to Alzheimer's as Type 3 Diabetes. Treat/prevent it with keto, carnivore, or intermittent fasting. Main enemy is seed oils. Practically no one had it when folks primarily used hog lard. Now soybean oil and other seed oils plus lots of sugars and grains are the perfect storm for all sorts of diseases.

Big food and big pharma hate these 3 ways of eating. Cuts into their profits.

Bingo.

I lay odds it is the over usage of canola oil aka rape seed oil. Natural insecticide to repel bugs in breads and flour based products, but it stays in the body so long I would not be surprised if they find a link with oil retention and a blood brain barrier toxicity issue.

I also believe that a lot of the issues come from toxic foods and processing methodologies actually causing health issues.

But bigger issue is our nutritionallly deficient foods and what disorders are those causing?

As original folks covering up for stuff from WW2 die off I suspect the food pyramid is about to change in light of diabetes and these disorders. The food pyramid was created during WW2 to counter some of the starvation diets of the concentration camps and some outright lies.

The food pyramid scheme came out around the time of the mass market and transporation we are accustomed to now and I am starting to think was part of a pig pyramid scheme to keep people in business.

So I am real curious to see what other lies get uncovered in the near future...

You took the words right out of my fingers. Animal fats and lots of them. Butter or lard or bacon grease.

I hope someone figures it out. Took my Dad, but it was a full 8 year process. He took their voodoo pills, but I don't see where it helped, infact made him feel like shit. I'm 10 years away from his age when it started. I don't know how hereditary it is, especially from father to son.
I've heard it skips a generation but AFAIK, there's none in my immediate family so, nothing to back that up.

Only person I know who's afflicted is MIL. Want a definition of pridefully stupid? That's her. Diagnosed w/ Alzheimer's 8 yrs ago and kept it to herself because "it was nobody's business". We only found out 3 years ago when we got involved w/ POAs to manage their income etc w/ a view to them aging in place/dying at home.

Good luck with this.

I've read that if one does everything possible to keep the brain engaged: life long learning, reading/writing, solving moderately complex puzzles etc etc, forestalling full onset is possible but its a variable slice of time.

Your advantage is like my wife's; you both know it might b in your cards. She's learning and stretching her mind every day she can; hopefully it works for all concerned. . . . .
