Has No Life - Lives on TB
Okay, first, I have a lot of cast iron that I've collected over the years. Quite a few years ago a cast iron gingerbread house mold came my way. But it's just been sitting there waiting for me to season it and use it.
Well a few days ago I had to season a "new to me" square griddle pan, and one of my smaller skillets so I decided to do the mold at the same time.
Well, both pans seasoned just fine. The mold is a whole 'nother story. The oil didn't penetrate at all. All the oil I put on just dripped off. It's pooled up in the nooks and crannies and hasn't formed any type of coating. I've never seen anything like it.
It's marked 1983 John Wright Company - The Gingerbread House. I can find the molds online and recipes. But I can't find any information on whether they were preseasoned or not.
Anyone here have any clues for me? I'd really like to use this. My son has multiple food allergies and I'd like to be able to help him make a gingerbread house this next year.
