Wow.
I was just browsing elsewhere curious about B-52 movements. Saw my first flyover yesterday nw mid-tn. Broke out binoculars saw that profile can’t mistake it.

I give up.
That fire above -- those were on #Louisiana twitter and #planecrash twitter; nowhere else ATM.

That person is the only one so far who has anything.

I was about to go to bed but have been trying to find more info...not anything that I've seen on MSM. But it seems to be in a rural area judging by where folks are saying the signal disappeared, so there may just not be much to tell yet.

Praying for the crew and families of service members who were on duty tonight.

I use Flightaware and have set them up to send me 7700 squawk alerts when they're issued. I received a B-52 7700 alert tonight at 7:50pm EST for "No Call Sign -- 60-0024".
Unfortunately, I was busy at the time and didn't look at the alert details.
BTW - I've kept tally of 7700 incidents for about 6 months now to see if the daily/monthly volume is maintaining itself above about 4/ day. I read somewhere that there used to be several per month, but due to "vaccine" injections to the pilots and the medical emergencies arising, the rate has increased dramatically.
Anyway, I monitor 7700 alerts now.

Any idea as to location other than Louisiana? Don't know if it's normal or not, but all state police are offline on Broadcastify.

They'll be using scrambled/Fed comms, not their usual radio frequencies.

And there will be a media lid on this. Optics are ammunition these days.

But watch the White House - this may bring the live teevee slipup we've been told to watch for...

Not saying it didn't happen, but state patrol, county LEO's would not be using Fed frequencies. Not all counties in the US have encryption, especially the poorer ones. Tracks look pretty damning.

Thanks Ogre. I have a .mil contractor in my tiny nowhere county, might make a difference.

My local responders go dark on the public freqs when interesting things happen.

All of mine do too, some quicker than others, although locally they all dispatch on an open frequency.
The largest city in the county usually stays open for a while, my Podunk town only dispatches on an open frequency, everything else is encrypted. Guess we're more important.

Expect the news to cover a brush fire, perhaps sparked by lightning.

Can anybody remember losing a buff?
There must be a shitload of protocol, they're stuffed with secret things.

I'm not liking the 'broken arrow' possibility here either.

Not.
One.
Bit...

I'm going with this being a nothingburger. The photos on the Twitter post are stock photos or photos from elsewhere on the web. I also searched for a bit for any recent relevant reportings, and there's nothing.

How do you explain the flight path?

How do you explain the flight path?

Based on ADS-B Exchange, its last reported position was 4 hours ago about 5 NM from Barksdale AFB, at about 2700ft altitude, air speed about 211kts, descending at 1800fpm. From my limited knowledge, it seems like a reasonable approach speed and altitude being 5 NM out from the base, and like it likely landed safely there. I can't explain why it may have been squawking 7700. The photos are certainly bogus though.

Here's the link to the flight path on ADS-B Exchange if you're interested in checking it out: ADS-B Exchange - tracking thousands of aircraft
