Hell, if you're going for celebs to be pres, choose eith Joe Satriani or Yngvie Malmsteen...

If nothing else, we'd at least have a new version of the National Anthem.... :D

Ok Giltric,

You've officially pissed me off. I hereby stand by and claim my right to defend myself against your unwarranted attacks against me.

This is not about politics - I detest politics. I could care less about any political party in the US - in fact I believe every one of them should be banned. They're all staffed by petty, power-hungry meglamaniacs.

I deal in and with facts based on solid, credible evidence. I base my decisions for whom I am going to vote for based upon on each individual person ... who they are, what they are, what they represent, how they live their personal lives, their record based on their personal history, how they handle their affairs - public and personal. If I can not find enough info on a particular candidate - then, as far as I am concerned, they obviously do not really want to represent anyone but their own vested self-interests and they are NOT going to get my vote, PERIOD!

This about Kerry ... the wanna-be-a-man.

I'm a combat veteran - I detest his treason, under fire and back home, as an officer in the US military. I detest the way he wheedled his way out of really having to serve by falsifying documents and lying. My brother was in the US Navy in a special forces unit in Vietnam. I've listened to my brother rant about Kerry's actions in 'Nam ever since he became a Senator.

I love my country and all that it represents. I may disagree with some of the policies that elected officials have wrought, BUT I watched as my comrades died on the battlefield while fighting for the values and principles upon which this country was founded and upon which it still stands. It took me years to physically recover from the very real, physical injuries I sustained on that same battlefied while serving my country.

I detest the very public statements that Kerry has made in front of tv cameras stating categorically that he will conduct foreign policy solely in accordance with UN mandates and in only in cooperation with other nations. One quote by Kerry struck me so hard - it is firmly implanted in my memory: "Foreign policy must be based on the arrival of a consensus by the entire international community and actions only taken by a coalition of nations. The US can not and will not act alone."

Kerry scares the crap outta me. I've heard what he has to say and I am intelligent enough to understand where he is going to take this country if given the chance ... and THAT scares me even more.

And I do not want to hear no crap about Bush either ... as I believe I made abundantly clear in my earlier post - I am no fan of Dubya.

I've avoided posting much on any of these political threads; but, today is election day ... and, by God, I have the right to have my vote AND my voice heard. I've earned it - up close and personal.

Go play your childish little partisan games elsewhere.

I'm not attacking you.

You made a statement.

I made a response.

My father died in SE Asia somewhere......won't know details for a while...one of the reasons his name is not on the wall when I started asking questions last year.

Where were all these books when he started his carreer as a politicain?

Why do all the books get published at 5 to midnight.

You didn't mention anything about his treason in VN.....you mentioned taxes and health care and the UN......next time make a statement about his "courage under fire" if thats what you really mean by :

Hope you've got several years of preps topped off because taxes are gonna skyrocket. Post-Kerry election tax return:

Cause its kinda cryptic if you mean "Kerry should be tried for treason for his actions during and after the VN conflict"

Go play your childish little partisan games elsewhere.

How is what I said partisan.....or are you another one of those "analysts".

If Kerry wins, Hillary is a no-brainer for Chief Justice of SCOTUS. This will lead to many interesting and ineffectual articles in legal journals for centuries.

Giltric,

I'm sorry.

I should not have unloaded on you. I just buried a friend as close as a brother today and obviously my emotional state is not as stable as it should be.

I apologize.

Hillary? Ah-nold? Bush allowing abortions? Ted Nugent? Exploding heads? 4 years of whining?

Is this a great country, or what!

This has been such a great thread - I've been laughing for the whole thing. Thanks for the different perspective. I'm glad I finally joined this site!

I think we will muddle through, no matter who gets elected. I've already done my part to add to the national confusion, so I'll just sit back and see where the dust settles.

Cheers!

Whoops, I posted before reading everything on p. 2.

No, I'm not laughing at all the posts. Especially yours, Thunderlight.

Take care.

INVAR

Sword At-The-Ready
During the last 4 years, however, it became very clear who belonged to which group. For example, I thought INVAR for sure was an "anti-government" type what with all his talk about bloody revolutions and marching on Washington and rivers of blood and lots of people dead (and, of course, bloody).

I am still very anti-government. A people governed by God and scripture have little need of a behemoth government micromanaging and regulating every aspect of our lives. The nature of men is to usurp such liberty so as to allow themselves the power to lord over others, and the sheeple to submit to said tyranny if there is promise of bread and security.

Whatever it was, it was sure to involve lots of bleeding.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants when the line is crossed - or the kind of liberty our Founders enumerated and documented as a birthright goes bye-bye forever.

Freedom isn't free - it requires vigilance and violence in blood to protect and preserve, for the hearts of men and the nations of this world are evil.

Turns out, all he really needed was a Republican in office, no bloody revolution required. Now the government is just peachy keen, heck, it's our friend!!!

Government is NOT peachy keen. We have a runaway tyrannical Activist judiciary - a corrupt justice system, a militarized police force, a government that taxes and spends themselves into permanent political power and an emoting underclass of dependants who don't trust their neighbors with freedom or wealth and use government to restrict and rob them of it.

But we have a more immediate problem to deal with or there will be much more bleeding than the kind of bleeding Jefferson refferred to. Therefore in respect to the CINC waging this war - he has my support.

We need to deal with the maniac killer intent on our throats and worry about the pickpockets later. One kills you quicker than the other.
