Maybe not.

But I do think that when you find yourself in a hole, the first step is to stop digging.

I don't want to cave in to the Muslim terrorists any more than the next guy. But I think the days of the US being able to solve any problem ourselves using aircraft carriers and cruise missiles are gone, and Bush doesn't realize that. Whether we like it or not, I don't think we can do this alone, and I am afraid of what Bush is going to do to us all as part of his "education".

Well, since the legislative branch has fallen to the overwhelming control of the Republicans, our checks and balances against abuse of office have largely fallen and the last hope we have to preserve what remains of the Bill of Rights is whatever meager defense the Judicial system is willing to put up. I hold little hope there.

We face a future where war is peace, poverty is prosperity, defeat is victory, oppression is freedom, propaganda is news, lies are truth, and truth is "classified". We shall become a fearful citizenry stripped naked of privacy, called to subservience,face a crackdown on dissent, from a brutal, secretive, unaccountable to anyone government. Our leaders shall become even more disdainful of observing, obeying, acknowledging or submitting to any legal restraints to their excessive authoritarian measures. By this election and its gift of total power to such men we have willingly volunteered to become totally helpless to oppose WHATEVER crazy ideas this administration may be influenced to embrace and pursue.

God help us. We have made a huge mistake.
I FEEL LIKE MY WHOLE COUNTRY IS UNDER THE SPELL OF A "JIM JONES CULT" AND THEIR UNQUESTIONING BLIND FAITH IN THIS POWER HUNGRY LEADER JUST PROMPTED THEM ALL TO DRINK THE POISONED KOOL-AID!!
