Perhaps reading too much tb2k before hand
Really good work though - I envy all of you artistic types.
TB2K may have been a trigger; living 25 miles to the east of the site coulda done it, too!
"Artistic type"??
Maybe "artistic dabbler!" I'm a bona fide member of the "Paint the Sistine Chapel in 25 -- no,
20 -- Minutes School". I enjoyed photography until the digicams came out. "New! Improved! Gotta get this NOW!!!" adverts every three weeks is irritating to me. I figured if oils have been around since the 1500's or so, and charcoal since Adam said, "Hold still, willya, Eve?" and pastels for quite a while (1700's?)
they at least, were not going to go digital.
As to not being artistic, that reminds me of a part in Heidi, where Peter says, "I tried to read, once; it was too hard," which Heidi took as gospel truth until Grandmama showed her otherwise. Take a look at what Jackson Pollock did. And how he did it. Then tell me you could not do as well, if not better. A LOT better!!
Wander over to
http://www.wetcanvas.com and look around. You'll see pictures done by very good artists, and others (by beginners, admittedly) that I would be embarrassed to upload. Yet all are treated with kindness and encouragement. And there are people who use #2 pencils and printer paper, or ball-point pens to draw with.
OK, lend me your shoulder so's I can hop offa my soap-box! Thank you!
Finally (whew!) thank you for your kind compliment!
