And too much Gatorade. It is causing diarrhea. The sugar

My DH swears by Liquid IV. He works outdoors and sweats buckets in the summer. He said it works so much better than Gatorade. It’s expensive, but worth it.

They come in different size packs. The best price is at Costco but can also find them at Walmart and most drug stores.

Any updates?

Covid wise, we are slowly progressing to better.

We are done with steroids, we are hacking out the seemingly neverending supply of crud our lungs produced. That is a good thing. The er Dr told me it can take two weeks to clear it all out. The exhaustion is definitely still there! From what everyone has said, that is normal and takes a while to pass. I have a wedge pillow and many more pillows to sleep and rest as upright as possible. Fezzik moved to the reclining chair downstairs so he can he more upright as we sleep. I miss him, but we both need to be able to breath and get the crud out. Laying flat is not good for this.

My main concern is the refeeding. It takes time and careful acting and lots of prayer.

And both fezzik and I cannot wait to be able to be more active and go to the chiropractor again! Ugh, being all crunked up for weeks is making us stiff and in pain and feeling old lol. Our backs are a little pissed at us right now haha

We are slowly improving, and we again thank each and every one of you for the prayers, love, and concern, and help. It means so much to us.

Keep praying please

Another complication. It has been weeks of eating almost nothing, and I started eating. It took a bit to figure out, but I'm pretty sure I have refeeding syndrome.

Long story that I do not want to get into, but I have had it before. Bad juju.

Please keep praying, guys

Got addicted to popsicles during our bout. I lost about 35lbs. Hang in there. Food is not your friend in the midst of da wuhu flu.

DD is a POTSIE. She won't be caught outside the house without this stuff.

Prayers, Hunny!

Thanks for the update!

When you're feeling better, get some help and deep clean the house. Make sure the toothbrushes are getting cleaned with peroxide (or swap them out if cheap). Swap out the furnace filter. If you are handwashing dishes, use gloves, Clorox, and then pour a kettle full of boiling water over them as a last step.

I've not seen these steps in the medical journals, but they are a part of my SARS protocols to keep from being reinfected once the virus is on the run. I've reinfected myself with the flu from not cleaning toothbrushes, so I know first-hand that can be a problem.

That's something my grandmother - a 1918 Spanish flu survivor - insisted on when anyone in her house was ill. It was a standard practice in her little rural community. I still do it if we've used regular dinnerware/utensils, but whenever we're down with something communicable I tend to use paper plates / bowls / cups and plastic utensils.

Another thing both grandma and grandpa did was gargle frequently with regular old brown Listerine at the first sign of flu or cold or really any illness. And what do you know... gargling with Listerine shows up on various COVID protocols.

They were very seldom sick with anything that otherwise afflicted their small community and both lived to a very old age.

Really good to 'see' you, hunybee! Glad to know you're on the up side of recovery. The exhaustion will be frustrating. Activity is good, but don't push it.

Prayers for y'all continue!

Sadly, I cannot do the artificial sweeteners. I cannot do stevia, and any of the alcohol sugars either.

So far, the recipe cyberiot gave me is working. It's gross. But it's working lol

Maybe you could add a "splash" of Gatorade or juice to it. Just to add flavor.

I'm continuing to pray for you all. Glad the doctor and his family are doing better.

Edit: I posted before seeing your further problems. Gosh, you've really been through it. Prayers that your recovery will jump by leaps and bounds each day. Hugs to you!!!

My mom put so much Clorox in the dishwater it made my hands hurt! Don't know if there's a downside to that, but she lived to be 94.
