OP-ED One Question That Could Soon Enter Our Minds…As Horrible as It Is (Could you kill your neighbor?)

I recall one such earlier discussion now that had slipped my mind, and was actually one of the more thought provoking I've read. At the time I guess I may have sounded anti civil war myself. In truth I was not then, nor am I now. It was just that we were being beset by so many pot stirrers and "influencers" trying to push, to shape the narrative towards an outbreak of violence, and to take our temperatures to see just how close to ready we might be, that I was feeling contrarian.

It may indeed become a necessary evil, this CWII, but I don't dance on command for anyone, least of all those rat bastards that were trying to get us to commit a false start. Screw that, and screw them imho.

I live on the MO/KS line, where the blood is still tacky and the ground still cries out from the wounds o' the first CW, and it is too readily apparent that the price is almost too big to be borne- - -but the decisions may not be ours, and there does come the time when the alternatives are harder still.

This article of course was not asking if literally we'd 'kill our neighbor' but if we're able, or willing, to saddle the nation with another such dark period. If the answer comes easily, or doesn't weigh heavily, upon is, we might have bigger problems than the commie coup imo.

almost unbelievably (given the current state of the country) when there were "discussions" beginning in earnest regarding the possibility of CWII and potential violence in the country, there were several who commented not only that it could NEVER occur here but that that if it did it wouldn't be in their lifetime and they personally would refuse to participate.

at the time, the opposing view in those discussions were that not only would it occur it would do so in the foreseeable future and there would be no individual choice concerning personal participation outside of the obviously available choice of self sacrifice

Unfortunately putting down animals is far harder for me than would be a threat to my family. They are innocent the aggressors would not be.
When I was young butchering was traumatic for me. As you age you learn to turn it off. My love for God's creatures is far above the 2 legged rat bastards related or not

I sincerely believe that the bottom line is quite simply this:
  • WE do NOT want this - but it certainly seems we are being PUSHED into a corner where will be no other choice
  • WE will ALL be touched by it - some sooner, others later, some worse than others, but ALL of us will be touched
accepting ^^these^^ as accurate observations, the most important take away from ANY discussion like this is simply this last point:

begin to consider what YOU will do when that time arrives because there will be no do overs and no instant replays. IF you were in the camp that held the mindset "not here; never in my life time" you would NOT have made that mental leap. I would think its appropriate to do so at this point.

this last is all my comments have ever intended - the thought process itself being an imperative "first step".
CONSIDER WHAT YOU WILL DO - BEFORE its time to do it
MINDSET is well over half the battle

age gender race neighbor kith and kin . . .
those are simply other 'layers' to cloud the decision making - and yet another reason(s) to BEGIN that process

What about the clueless commies in the family?
What about them? Are you suggesting we go forth and kill our liberal family members? Under what circumstances should we do that? Please be specific.

As an aside, you really love to torture metaphors don’t you?

I am pretty sure that my family, friends and neighbors might walk here for something to eat and drink. They would not come here to die unless we all were all here to die.

Last first. Yes, the written word allows me to mix them up slightly easier than spoken word. I try not to be too irritating here or in real life. Honestly, I suspect I do "pet a dog against the hair" occasionally. :)

To the serious question: The current mindset of marxist influenced people have them brainwashed. Why should I expect a blood relative would be immune?

I have said several times that this war would be fought one self-defense event at a time.

You remind us regularly they want us dead. They could possibly include relatives.

This is a horrible topic deserving of proper polemic.

I never understood how split families could reunite after the first Civil War.

My post history is here for all to evaluate. I've never advocated premeditated violence for ideological reasons.

Some here have occasionally broached the subject of preventative (premature) self-defense. That will never end well but sometimes we have only bad options or worse options.

No.

I'm not in it for the temporal, the flesh. I'm in it for the eternal, the spiritual. Everyone's eternal destination is set by their own choice of actions, whether they realize it or not.

You haven't already fired them?
I'm a live & let live guy. :D

They are rare in my world. I'm quite content to be civil, meek even. Until they start to push their crap upon me.

That's the frustrating irony. They generally aren't content following laws, rules, or decorum.

My problem looking forward, tragically, will be the fascist evolution of some I care about. A jackboot for any reason or justification is still a jackboot.

The future could potentially see me called a bleeding heart AND a fascist at the same family reunion. :)

I'm okay with that...

This is one of my lines only used when absolutely necessary: You'll miss me long before I miss you...

Please believe me. "We Don't Know Ourselves".

True, but I sincerely pray the Holy Spirit outweighs my flesh. I have no children or grandchildren. My earthly husband is already in Christ's arms. My dogs have been called home to romp at Christ's feet. WHY would I want to fight to stay on this dark, dingy planet where evil seems to multiply five-fold daily?

Look up 1 Peter 2:18-21. For me, bearing up under "harsh" or unjust suffering - even death, is nothing compared to what Christ did for me, and I've got several legal pads full of sins!

The Holy Spirit has had me shut up and take it 'unjustly' (without cause) before so I'm hoping practice makes perfect.
