Here is my prediciton for some of what will happen in the next four years: When President Bush does not reinstate the draft, start a nuclear war, strip us of all of our civil liberties, etc. etc., the people making these wild claims will not apologize or admit they were wrong. They will just make up more baseless claims, and get angry when anybody challenges them.

I guess it's probably therapeutic to gloat a little bit then. I do have to admit that a tiny part of me would have enjoyed the following scenario:

1. Kerry wins the election.
2. Kerry gets us into a nuclear war.
3. I show everyone my posts predicting this (hard copies, of course, since the EMP wiped out the internet), and say "see, I told you so," and they believe me.

Unfortunately, now I have to wait four years, we don't have a nuclear war, I'll tell everyone, "see, I told you so," but they won't believe me. Even though this won't give me quite as much opportunity to successfully gloat, I guess it's probably for the best.

I agree. And, at least on my part, that's what my vote for Bush was.

Got that right. Folks who live in cities have a whole different outlook and attitude about life. Stuff comes from "stores" and always has been there and always will be. Most in cities are TOTALLY dependent upon the plastic infrastructure. Cities also congregate the "weirdos" IMHO. I almost wanted to create a "Why Cities Suck" thread but thought better of it. Hell would freeze over LONG before I would EVER consider living in one. Unless they let me hunt, fish and homestead in the city parks!
