Obama's Western Wall Prayer Revealed

I knew that someone would dig his prayer out of the Western Wall and publish it. I'm sure he had to know it too. I pray that God will answer this prayer.

Fair Use:

JERUSALEM — A written prayer that Barack Obama left this week in the cracks of the Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site, asks God to guide him and guard his family, an Israeli newspaper reported Friday.

“Lord — Protect my family and me,” reads the note published in the Maariv daily. “Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.”

The paper’s decision to make the note public drew fire. The rabbi in charge of the Western Wall, Shmuel Rabinovitz, said publishing the note intruded in Obama’s relationship with God.

“The notes placed between the stones of the Western Wall are between a person and his maker. It is forbidden to read them or make any use of them,” he told Army Radio. The publication “damages the Western Wall and damages the personal, deep part of every one of us that we keep to ourselves,” he said.

Another Israeli paper, Yediot Ahronot, published an article Friday saying it had also obtained the note but decided not to publish it to respect Obama’s privacy.

Many visitors to the 2,000-year-old Western Wall leave notes bearing requests and prayers. Obama did so during a pre-dawn visit there Thursday, following a day spent meeting Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

Maariv published a photograph of the note, which it said had been removed from the wall by a student at a Jewish seminary immediately after Obama left.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Friday by The Associated Press.

The handwriting appeared to match a message Obama inscribed Wednesday in the guest book at Yad Vashem, Israel’s official Holocaust memorial, and was written on stationery from the King David Hotel, where Obama stayed while in Israel.

The visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories was part of an international tour meant to shore up Obama’ s foreign affairs credentials.

At the Western Wall, Obama was greeted by a crowd of curious onlookers and photographers. He donned a white skullcap, listened to a rabbi read a prayer, and inserted a folded white piece of paper between the stones. One hardline Israeli protester shouted, “Obama, Jerusalem is not for sale.”

IF this was indeed his prayer, I do not care. I do not care if he made himself out to be a public person entitled to having his every fabric exposed. What I DO detest is the fact that if this is true, then someone has taken a most personal note off that wall and made it public. I realize that this wall is extremely sacred to our brothers and sisters.
I don't personally need a wall to talk to my YAH, but this is low.

If true, IMHO it is a very wise & apt prayer - I hope God grants his wishes and helps him be a better person & a competent President of the USA.

While I agree the Wall is sacred and it was low to publish the prayer, I'm pretty sure Obomination knew there was that risk and wrote the prayer with that in mind.

Point taken.
But maybe he didn't?
Maybe he thinks himself right up there with 'God' knowing full well he can't do a thing without it being pre-ordained?
Or maybe not.....
I yawn at these people...
A little time of glory on earth for an eternity of hell....
what a trade...

I give up.
If I was famous, I would never put anything out in public like that.

Oh well.

All the world's a stage and we are all actors here...... or something.... Didn't Shakespeare say that?

Wrong to publish - only a slime bucket would be so greedy to take it and publish it. Nothing is private or sacred any more.

Several things come to mind....

When I furst heard about him at the wall I wondered if he was praying that they only got his good side in the photos.

Was he facing in or out?

Not everyone that say 'Lord' is praying to God. Perhaps he is but then again satanists call satan 'lord' and Islamics call Allah 'lord' or God.

I agree it was scripted but not "just in case' but for "Go get it and get it published once the crowds go down...it will get me n good with the Jews AND Christians!" He's a socialist and they have no god so praying to show face is not uncommon.

If someone really did remove it without 'Bama's permission/knowledge then they are an asshole.

Obama should have included a line about also asking for forgiveness from the soldiers that are laying in hospital beds in Germany. Was tooooo much trouble to visit and express gratitude to wounded warriors while he was in country.

Forget whatever he wrote on the paper. Let talk about the scum that would take it and publish it. McCain,Clinton and Bush did the same thing were their prayers published. Why was his note removed? This is reporting at it's lowest.

I think that was Geddy Lee of RUSH.

Back on topic ... that was really low to publish his prayer.

Hey, look at the public opinion swinging to give him sympathy. Man, his handlers are crafty.

What are you talking about? Please explain to us about that eternity in hell trade off. Are you so sure of your own destiny?

Where did you get that idea, that socialists have no god? You are obviously confusing political systems with religions. Do you even know what socialism is?

I know it makes no difference to post this, but you must not have heard that the Pentagon said he couldn't visit the wounded in Germany:

"The statement that I sent out and the statement that Gen. Gration sent out are consistent in that what Gen. Gration learned from the Pentagon that the trip to Ramstein and Landstuhl will be viewed as a campaign stop," Gibbs said. "The decision that Sen. Obama made with that information was that we would not put our warriors in the position of being involved in a campaign stop. Therefore, he made the decision not to make the stop."

Gibbs explained it was the use of the campaign plane and staffers that would have violated the rules. "He could go as a United States senator, but it was pretty clear from the guidance that we received from the Pentagon that the trip would be viewed as a campaign stop," he said. "Given the information that we had received, Sen. Obama made the decision that we were not gonna have wounded men and women become involved in a campaign event or what would be perceived as a campaign event."

He said campaign was aware that Obama would be criticized either way -- for going or for canceling -- by his rivals and he reminded reporters that Obama quietly visited wounded troops at Walter Reed a few weeks ago and did it quietly.

OP - is absolutely nothing sacred anymore? Publishing private prayers?

I find it abhorrent that his prayers were removed from the wall, read and then published. According to the article, a Jewish seminary student removed the folded paper containing the prayer immediately after Obama left. :shk: It is reprehensible that it was published by that newspaper! I wonder if the "student" was paid for his scoop? Another paper refused.

Obama was given every courtesy to visit the wounded as an American Senator. Not a media circus act.

All Obama had to do was leave the campain clowns outside the hospital............and leave the foto ops to movie stars.

Would have been nice to act like a Senator for a change instead of a Media Rock Star.

Obama chose to NOT visit based on the rules of common decency.

Obama's Love for our soldiers only goes so far

Rick Moran
Evidently, if you're a soldier in Afghanistan and there are no cameras around to record how much you love the troops, you can blow them off if you are Barack Obama.

Blackfive got an email yesterday from a soldier in Bagram, Afghanistan that tells what happened when Obama visited the base

I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plan[sic] and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

And Hot Air has news that Obama actually dropped a scheduled meeting with soldiers in Germany so that he wouldn't miss his big speech

The message here is that thousands of screaming German fans at the Tiergarten take precedence over visiting Americans serving their country at Rammstein and Landstuhl. Maybe one of the networks following Obama could interview a few of the soldiers about how they perceive that set of priorities from Obama.

And in an update, we discover it wasn't "scheduling problems" that made Obama miss his date with the troops

Obama canceled a previously-planned stop to visit thousands of American service personnel, including troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan being treated at Landstuhl, so he could hold a political rally for Germans and go shopping in Berlin. Now that’s a nice set of priorities for a man who wants to become Commander in Chief.

I guess unless he can use troops as props in his little propaganda shows, they mean nothing to him.

1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Matthew 6 1-8 (KJV)

There's NO defense for removing a prayer from the wall and publishing it, regardless of who placed it there or what it says.

Now, I don't like Obama... But...

I still feel a tremendous uneasiness about Obama being the next POTUS. And, I will never be able to bring myself to support him. Having said that...

What that reporter did was flat out wrong and there is no justification for it!

He did nothing for the well-being of the public. If Obama is the great liar I think he is, then the prayer was just for show and the reporter fell right into his snare. If Obama was truly sincere in his prayer, then the reporter violated a most basic trust. Either way, the reporter did what he did, to give his career a step up. I hope it backfires on him, the way Connie Chung's violation of trust backfired on her, years ago... Remember Connie Chung? Vaguely, I think...
