Obama's secret plan to reclassify your guns
President may ban certain firearms with 1 simple move

President Obama, congressional Democrats and even some Republicans plan to push new gun-control legislation in the 113th Congress, but defenders of the Second Amendment fear Obama is poised to enact the restrictions through the Executive Branch if Congress is not cooperative.

John M. Snyder heads GunRightsPolicies.org and has worked for organizations from the National Rifle Association to the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. He said Obama and his allies have already chartered what regulatory course to pursue through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF.

“We have some confidential information that he may order the ATF to reclassify certain models of semi-automatic firearms as Title 2 guns under the Gun Control Act of 1968,” Snyder told WND. “What this would mean is that people could not obtain these without going through a terribly difficult process that includes registration of each firearm and paying a severe fee for the ownership of each one.”

Snyder said an even more drastic approach from Obama would be to try to ban semiautomatic weapons altogether.

“Also, there is the possibility that the administration could try to declare that semi-automatic firearms are fully automatic firearms or machine guns under this Title 2, in which case they would be banned because of an amendment that’s on the books, the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Snyder is referring to what’s known as the Hughes Amendment, which forbids the acquisition of any new fully automatic weapons or machine guns.

The possible strategy is not a new idea, according to Snyder. He said liberal groups have advocated the move for years, but Democrats have been reluctant to pursue it because of the massive public backlash that will ensue.

“This is an ongoing project of theirs, and they use a lot of these tragedies to try to advance their cause in a public relations sense. So far they’ve been unable to do that,” said Snyder. “It appears that the public is catching on to them and they know what their game plan is, generally speaking. So a lot depends on their frustration, the political situation at the time and a number of other factors, too.”

Even if the Obama administration were to bypass Congress by imposing new regulations, there is still one card left for pro-Second Amendment forces to play: The House of Representatives could remove funding for the ATF or abolish it completely. But would the House GOP actually do that? Snyder is confident it would.

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I think the House is really furious with the president,” Snyder said. “The Republicans would like to cut budgets of the federal government because they think the federal government is taking too much money and spending too much money, and a good place for them to cut would be in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. If there is strong enough public support against the activities of the federal government, the House of Representatives will develop a plan to slash the budget of the agency. I think it’s a real possibility.”

Don't just blame obama.
Congress could stop funding to 2,000 programs if they reallly wanted to stop an executive order.

I mean real defunding like no money to Commerce Dept and other departments and agencys right away. Never let them tell you there is nothing they could do.

Isnt it about time that someone challenges the constitutionality of "Executive Orders"? or would that even have any effect?

I honestly don't think they'd be STUPID enough to try something like that. It would be the absolute death blow to the Demon-O-craps. Such a move would totally polarize far too many Americans. Especially hard core Red, White and Blue folks and not to mention nearly every single red blooded Veteran along with any honest LEO's out there, which is far more than I think TPTB realize.

So......BRING IT ON>>>>>STUPID!!

Problem is, there is nothing they WILL do... :shk: they are gutless. And there is no way the Dems will stand up to him. Even when they know he is breaking the law. They are afraid they will lose their few remaining supporters. He's riding way too high right now... and I have been worried all along, that this is what will happen... :popcorn1:

ETA: It is actually like Chuck Woolery said in his "restart congress" video... all of them are too worried about loosing their powerful and highly compensated 'jobs'.

Okay, so the Obammunist would polarize the nation with this move...to what end? The 2014 mid-terms? Any elections in the future will be stolen, just as the one last November was. Forget about the ballot box, the jury box, and they're coming after the soap and cartridge boxes. Forget Congress, the Constitution, and the courts...the Obammunist will simply sidestep them. He's a dictator, and as such will not be constrained by anything. Are we ready for that?

I believe there are less than 200k weapons in the NFA registry.

The wait for an initial Form 4 is about 9 months.

There is NO Way to add 90,000,000 semi autos to this list.

Not in one lifetime.

OK, so what is the next "event" to get the public or the LEO community behind the "gun grab"? Just a brief recap, we have has a theater shooting, a mall shooting, a sikh temple shooting, a school shooting, and a firefighter ambush shooting. If I were a devious evil lib gun grabber, it would fit my agenda perfectly if there was some type of LEO ambush type multi casualty shooting or two or three. This hypothetical future event would have to be in a more middle or upper middle class predominately white area for maximum effect. What do you think?

You know every time I read a story like this without any substantiation, I can't help but think it's sole purpose to to whip people into such a frenzy that the most passionate have a stroke and owning a firearm becomes moot.

Who's the originating source in this case? Yea.

I decided to stop worrying a few scare stories ago until we get some legislation introduced. Other than the Illinois state crap that was shot down, nothing I've seen so far is worth my blood pressure rising.

I'm mean really... spend a couple thousand $$$ and then die from a stroke because you got worked-up before you can work-in your new gun? Say did you hear? The BATF is cross checking Funeral announcements with Firearms purchases, they intend to break into your home when everyone is at your funeral and seize your guns? No really!

Sorry lets talk to rational friends, gain supporters, form up logical arguments and counter-arguments but lets not pop an artery yet.

It didn't have to wait to be "hypothetical" OR future; it happened again TODAY (well, yesterday, now) and again in AURORA, CO (where the Batman shootings happened)---

AURORA -- In what police officers called "the worst-case scenario," four people were found shot dead at a townhome Saturday, including the gunman, who repeatedly fired at officers during a six-hour standoff. The incident happened in the same Colorado city where a shooter in a crowded theater fatally wounded 12 people six months ago.

After several hours of negotiations, during which the gunman repeatedly hung up on officers and ignored their pleas to come out of the home, Aurora SWAT officers shot at the man after he opened fire from a second-story window.

Officers entered the home to find two men and a woman fatally shot on the first floor of the home. The gunman was found dead upstairs, said Cassidee Carlson,
spokeswoman for the Aurora Police Department.

Police could not confirm Saturday what type of gun the man was using or how many weapons were involved.

Police were first called to the two-story residence, located in the 16000 block of East Ithaca Place, shortly before 3 a.m. by a woman who had escaped by jumping from an upstairs back window.

The woman, who neighbors say is the gunman's wife, met officers outside when they arrived.

The woman reported seeing three "lifeless" bodies before she escaped uninjured. She later characterized her husband to police as being mentally ill, according to another police source. Police are also investigating the possibility that the gunman was using methamphetamines.

Within minutes, officers surrounded the townhome. Neighbors awoke to noises they described as "explosions" and "screams."

"I've never been so scared in my life," said Michael Ignace, who was awakened by the sound of a police bullhorn and commotion. Ignace lives in the corner unit of the six-unit building where the shootings took place.

Authorities have not officially named the gunman, but neighbors and other sources have identified him as Sonny Archuleta, 33. The names of the dead have not been

released, but multiple sources confirmed they are his father-in-law, his sister-in-law and her boyfriend.

Officers did not hear gunshots until about 8 a.m., when the gunman opened fire at SWAT officers as they, from an armored vehicle, smashed the townhome's first-floor front window. Police did not return fire, but several of the gunman's rounds struck the vehicle.

Throughout the standoff, police intermittently tried to negotiate with the gunman, who was piling furniture and possessions against the doors to barricade himself inside. The gunman answered his phone several times, Carlson said, but his conversation was unintelligible, and he sounded agitated.

Shaunna Bustios, who lives across the street from the townhome, said she repeatedly heard police officers yelling through a bullhorn or intercom system to try to coax a man down.

"'Sonny, come downstairs. Sonny, we have your wife. Sonny, come out and we'll get you the help you need," Bustios recalled police telling the man.

Jennifer Williams, who lives adjacent to the home, said she watched the incident from her garage and upstairs. She also heard police communicating with "Sonny."

"'We know you've been up for four days. What's done is done. Come out and we'll get you some help,'" Williams quoted police as calling out on the bullhorn.

Police kept asking Sonny to allow them to help "Anthony, Chris and Stacie," and urging him to come outside to speak with his wife, Williams said.

About 8:20 a.m., officers fired tear gas canisters into the home, but the gunman did not come out.

Less than an hour later, about 9 a.m., the man appeared in a second-story window and began firing at police. Officers returned fire and saw him fall back. It has not been confirmed whether the gunman died from police fire.

Throughout Saturday, investigators continued to work at the townhome, where red and silver Christmas ornaments dangled among the crumpled blinds in the shattered window. Two baseball-sized holes could be seen in one of the upstairs windows.

Authorities are interviewing the woman who escaped the home to determine what triggered the shootings. It was unclear whether there had been a struggle, and investigators have not confirmed the relationship among the four people.

According to state records, Archuleta had three previous charges for weapons offenses, including a prohibited use of a weapon in Federal Heights in 2004 and carrying a concealed weapon in Denver in June.

Archuleta's LinkedIn account says he is a freelance artist who specializes in animation, landscape design, concept art and texturing. According to the account, he attended the University of Colorado between 2007 and 2010.

For the past three years, Archuleta has helped run a boutique for infants and toddlers. Before that, he was the director of Step Up Inc., a faith-based life-skills workshop and recovery support agency that focused on overcoming hopelessness, his profile says.

His listed interests include gaming, music, talent management, graffiti art, mentoring, coaching, biblical study, Hebrew, Greek, manuscripts, autographs, history and business.

The Hughes Amendment was passed in 1986 as part of the FOPA. It has nothing to do with the 1968 GCA. If the author can't even get that pertinent fact straight, what credence can be given to the rest of the article?

The people had there chance to end this in the last election. The sitting congress has done nothing to stop this. The judicial has done nothing to stop it. The Patriot Act as well as the NDAA was pasted by a majority of both parties. Citizens want the spending to stop. Communist are in the WH
The Military is not doing anything and the citizens are just doing what they always do NOTHING.
