Here I am screwing around watching a video on truffles, ( yeah, but was interesting ), waiting for the next and last customer of the day.

Then the door opens and a gentleman who looks to be in his 60s enters and from across the room, begins to ask me questions.....

The questions are loud and forceful, but nothing out of the ordinary, do you do taxes, do you do business taxes, etc....

Thinking this may or may not be a new customer, I answer the questions and when he is done, I simply ask him how I can help

He then goes off again talking about how he has an international company ( note he looked homeless but I have a number who do, but are rich ) and that he is in the ARMY. So I follow up with are you still active as it does matter, this did not go well......

I then ask him once again, what can I do for him.......

At that point he begins to rant that I can't help him as I am too white, ( duh? ) and he needed a black to help him. The cursing begins and he ( thank goodness ) decided to leave all the while calling me every name under the sun and even made my large vocabulary of cuss words look inadequate at his vocabulary.....

I am so glad I am back to carrying.....

People are getting worse..... a lot worse.....

We have served over 400 customers so far this year and I can tell you over half are worried about feeding themselves or being able to pay the bills.... Things are not improving, Stay safe and be armed.....

My little story of the day..

Some of our tenants are getting nutty ... or nuttier than they were. Before if people fell behind on rent there were several ways to bring back to current. The assistance they were used to having access to has gotten pretty doggone then, and those offering assistance programs have a bunch of new rules that are "intrusive" and lead to taxes catching up with them.

They are getting 1098'd and 1099'd out the whazoo and shock of all shocks they aren't getting big payouts from taxes like they used to. Additionally, assistance programs are now requiring proof that people are doing this taxes every year. Even if they fall below a certain income range they are supposed to do their taxes and it is biting some of them on the butt. And they are being forced to then do the taxes in arrears even if it is for several years. The programs check the IRS rolls and if the IRS says you haven't done your taxes then unless you can prove you did you are required to file (again). And none of them that I know or heard about are smart enough to hang onto that kind of documentation.

They are also now required to file their household documents yearly ... ss cards, birth certificates, taxes for minors that work or receive assistance in their own name, etc for each household member regardless of age. "I already did that!" Their worker shrugs, "That was last year. You have to file them again." "But ... but I don't have them anymore! Cain't you pull the copies from your files?" "Nope, you have to bring in the originals and have them notarized that they are not fake."

We are talking to other landlords that are being hugely impact by this. Bad as the crap we all had to put up with during covid.

Sounds like the biden regime is cracking down on the 10% making them pay their fair share. Only it is the bottom 10% not the top 10%. Talk about implementing regulations that will drive that demographic over the edge as the OP has noted.

Maybe it will drive them right off the Democrat voter roles and onto Trump‘s voter roles. Or Kennedy’s.

After getting a tenant out I inherited couple weeks ago to only learn he had prob not showered this century and had a cat that never went outside and did not have a litter box..I get a ton of applicants for two vacant units…and none qualify. Unfortunately. And we are super flexible compared to most. I am going to leave the two vacant at this complex and sell it.

also…as you point out. many of the people who think they should get government assistance or disability never seem to get it. Always delayed or declined. maybe they are not filing taxes as you say. Unsure. I also don’t think they are tuned in enough to realize people are flooding across the border to get it. Many of the have the monthly phone plans for mobile where you buy a card at Walmart. They seem to not have active mobile numbers half the time and they will say had to go reload. So…they probably have no Clue what is going on out there and are trying to survive.

I suspect it will drive them to violence against their perceived oppressors. If there is any doubt in their minds as to who their oppressors might be I assure you their media feeds will provide guidance.
Good point.

I muse that MSM and democratic government will blame greedy capitalist and or anyone who has assets gained in/from the private sectors.

Really anyone who has a private residence or properties are considered to be "The Man" and they didn't earn/build that! Someone else did!

Obombas fundamental change!

I was going to bring up the increase in squatters & shoplifting, in this conv. (same-same IMO)

It seems as though we're on the tipping point of certain "entitled" - but disposessed - people simply taking what they want. Across the board. Cars, homes, merchandise, food, etc. Might have to electrify the garden to keep 2-leggeds out... !

Note: they can get an id.me account with the IRS and that will tell them what they owe, last filed, etc.

Also, they can print directly from the IRS their returns. It will be a transcript, but it is better than anything else....

Standard returns can be faked, the transcript less likely, especially if you help them download it.....

No. Too many of them are idiots and just want more free crap. They'll jump through the hoops to get it. Remember covid and all that free money that was handed out? Yeah. I expect the disease to spread.
It is and so is the anger over it....
