Some intel from friends here. When we lived in Missouri we were in the county next to Christian county, which is a fairly populated county that contains the city of Nixa and Ozark. Apparently all their polling stations are down and voters are being told to come back later. It’s a county that used to be red, but over the last few years had a lot of California folks move in and is turning blue.

As I stated on the EV thread:

I will say that if Biden wins it will prove that the American voters are dumber than I had thought they were, and our nation is in deeper trouble than I had thought !!!

I am in a strange situation. Leaving at the crackass of dawn tomorrow to the deep wilderness of northern Maine on a remote near-winter camping & hunting trip, far far from any communication until Sunday. Will not learn about election until return. Anxiety

Forget the election and enjoy your trip Colonel. Life is short and you may never have the opportunity to go again.

My wife and I just got done voting. Got to the polling place before 7 am. The parking lot was full, cars going in and out. We were numbers 174 and 175. We didn't have to wait in a line to vote though. People were getting their voting done pretty quickly and leaving. Constant flow of people in and out. When we left, there was a line of cars waiting to get in. I haven't seen a voting turnout like this ever in this town. Usually I vote after I get off work at the end of the day and maybe 200 people will have voted before me. Maybe, if there's a really important local issue. Most people here don't bother to get out and vote. 10% - 15% turnout is typical. I think this election is going to break records for turnout.

I live in mid-Missouri.

I got up at 3:28 this morning (an hour before my usual get-up time) and got to the polling station at 5:05 a.m. so that I could be first in line. Others started arriving maybe 15 or 20 minutes later. Polling station opened at 6:00. By the time I left (maybe 6:15), the place was swamped with people, and cars were circling the parking lot in a steady stream, looking for places to park. Looks to be a heavy turnout.

My precinct has about 3086 people in it. Just over 1000 voted early they said. I was there about 6:45 and the line was already around the building. Took about an hour and there were some characters there. Its our first frost this morning and some had on flip flops. I had socks and boots and my feet were so cold they still hurt. Guess that's a perk of getting older huh? But this one woman....we are pretty sure she was a witch. Dd was about 15 people behind me and this woman was in front of her. She was in butt cheek shorts (now guys before you get all worked up...she was older and NO business wearing them) and knee socks and she was chanting the whole time. Dd was texting me that she was pyscho. I got to wondering if she was one of those witches that were supposed to be binding Trump.

This is an early indication that the early voting rush was not just a fluke or a mechanism for most to avoid going to the polls on Election Day. If turnout stays consistently heavy today, it means people are engaged at a level not seen in recent elections.

I just voted after work this morning . maybe 10 people in line. When the poll worker checked my name off the list I did notice that everyone else but one had voted absentee marked off in yellow highlighter.. That is the first time I have seen that.

On the way in usually there are a number of people with hand out's for one party or the other at the hundred foot line, only one this time and he asked if I would like a list of the Dem's running my answer was no sir I could tell by the look in his eye he had already heard that a lot today..

We were in line at 5. 3 others there. (We know them.) So we chatted til 6. People started showing up about 5 30. Good line when we left. Polling person said 30% of voters had voted early. They expect steady stream all day. Paper ballots. Very efficient. I'd love to see Virginia go Trump, but the left side of the state usually goes left. I've never been this concerned about an election.

RELIC and I have struck our blows for Liberty, and broken our fast, and she is prepping to go up to her cave and start work. (GAWD I love this commute!!)

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Colonel Holman, may you enjoy your hunt, may you be successful, and add some GOODSTUFF to your freezer!

Oh and for the record, I have NEVER waited this long to vote. NOT EVEN when Barry 1 was the first (semi) black person elected. This year the turnout is going to toss ALL of the records and predictions into the wastecan of History.
