New Timing Chain.

Finally had to break down and do a little work on my old truck. I can't believe the extra power it seems the old truck has picked up since putting the new chain and gears on yesterday. I wonder if this new chain will last almost 300,000 miles like the last one did?

300K on a timing chain?

Whoa !

Old gears must have been steel, rather than the non-steel composites that have been used in more recent models. Did you replace the gears, as well?

What motor is it?

Am interested in knowing the enginemfgr also.

ITGN, I am currently driving a '98 Chevy p/u, 350CI, with 322k miles, all original engine parts, except for a water pump & alternator. Original 4L80E trans, have replaced two fuel pumps. I should trade it, (no more tax write off left) but I want to see how long it *will* last.

Green Co. I think that after we put a quater million miles on a truck, Chevy should take ours and put it on display, and give us a brand new one. LOL
