Nice looking machine. I bought a couple of industrial Singer sewing machines at Ralph's sewing in Denver it is like and sewing machine museum they have everything for sale for parts to antique to new machines. I have my grandmother's Singer treadle sewing machine with all the attachments and the instruction book. I have sewed a 16ft tipi and an 18ft tipi on it went through 5 layers of heavy canvas and even leather. Right now I have an Artisan Industrial machine.

WOW! That is so cool . . . and very nice resto-work on your part.

So, should I start sending my racing leathers to you for patch-work? :)

Neither here nor there.
Finished spraying the clear lacquer today and started reassembly.

Lots of small parts that were a pain to blast, so far I haven't dropped any through the screen into the sand.

Still have to put the bobbin drive in and set the timing.

Will try to get some better pics in daylight.

That machine just wasn't designed to do heavy leather.

I ended up getting a new Cowboy 4500.

It's a monster, will sew 3/4" of leather...all day.

And a shameless plug for Solar Leather in Dallas. Alexander is a no nonsense, ex-Marine. Very knowledgeable and direct. http://www.solar-leather.com/

Just wow! I love seeing a true craftsman at work. There are no shortcuts in a restoration like this. Take it slow, one step at a time. And you did a beautiful job. Will you post some of your leatherwork here?

I have an 1891 Singer Treadle and still have the cover that rests on top of the machine and the puzzle box full of attachments. The machine head needs a complete overhaul and building a replacement cabinet is far beyond my skill set. Someday...

The next time you need Clover Lapping Compound- Ebay is your friend. I use a burner Visa card not tied to my main account, but in three years of shopping online, I have yet to be taken advantage of.
