Our daughter got us a Spiralizer slicer for Christmas.
So we've been playing with it for the last several days. Cucumber noodles, Zucchini noodles, Carrot noodles and more. I've picked up some other hand style spiral type makers in the past, but found them not very handy and a PITA to use.
The Spiralizer on the other hand is EASY-PEASY! A quick blanch of the resulting veggie noodles and POOF! Done - al dente! You could also just do the veggie noodles raw if you're so inclined. I have to say so far we're really enjoyed the results and they make a very healthy alternative to regular wheat pasta noodles and a lot quicker than making pasta from scratch.
It is plastic so I can't say just how long it will last and it comes with five different slicer blade for a range of different sized spirals and slices. While I do wish it was made of metal, it is what it is. I'll just have to be careful with it.
Our initial impression overall is that it's a very handy and tasty alternative to have around.
