New Hampshire Spa Caters to 'Diaper-Wearing Individuals Who Seek Acceptance, Respite, and Care'

Mike Miller

I'm going to write this article as mostly straight news; the reason being my reluctance to stray from the "5 W's" of journalism — who, what, when, where, and why — lest I inadvertently (or intentionally) stray too far. That said, I look forward to reading the comment section with great anticipation.

How to begin...
So there's a new spa in New Hampshire that is, according to the spa's website, the “only physician-owned Diaper Spa in the world.” According to the site, the spa is open to “all diaper-wearing individuals who seek acceptance, respite, and care.”
The Diaper Spa services include ABDL (Adult Baby/Diaper Lover) nursery spa care, therapeutic support and life coaching, and a 24-hour stay called the Diaper B&B. All "clients" are required to wear adult diapers.

Spa owner Colleen Ann Murphy says that the spa and its services are non-sexual and do not cater to fetishes but instead cater to people who are looking to "regress and heal."
It helps them process whatever trauma it was. A lot of times it’s childhood trauma when they were in diapers or just getting out of diapers and they want to feel that safety that they had before that.

The Diaper Spa offers other services than those listed above, including:
VIRTUAL PLAY DATE / ZOOM WITH DOC
1 hr |$200
Introducing our Virtual Play Date / Zoom Visit with Doc. Experience personalized care and interactive sessions from the comfort of your own home.

Hmm.
And who is the Doc? According to the website:
Dr. Murphy is an exceptionally trained and licensed medical doctor (M.D.) with over two decades of knowledge and experience in nurturing others. She has spent her entire career walking with various people on their physical, mental, and spiritual health and wellness journey. She is fellowship-trained in Integrative and Holistic Medicine and is a trauma-informed intimacy and relationship coach.
Dr. Murphy is neurodivergent and most diligently approached the design of the Diaper Spa to stimulate all of the senses in an incredibly soft and soothing way. This is consciously not an over-stimulatory environment, with drawers overflowing with every toy, stuffie, and book imaginable.
Instead, the aesthetic and environment are both immaculate. The selections at the Diaper Spa are highly curated and intentionally appropriate to offer comfort and warmth and bring you on an incredibly peaceful journey.

I found the following two sections of the website particularly interesting.
Who is welcome at the Diaper Spa?
The Diaper Spa is here to serve all diaper-wearing individuals who seek acceptance, respite, and care. We embrace 21+ year-old individuals from all races, genders, sexual persuasions, and preferences. We celebrate the genuine you. We are LQBTQIA++ friendly and affirming. We are trauma-informed. Only guests over 21 yo [sic] can consent and receive our very elite 1:1 care.

And:
What is a visit like at the Diaper Spa?
Of course, every visit, just like every visitor, is different. However, we tailor our highly specialized one-on-one care experience entirely to each of our unique guests. We start with a discussion to confirm goals, boundaries, and consent. We discuss and agree upon a blueprint for the session. We perform and play out the session as decided and then enjoy aftercare.
Imagine a safe and judgment-free session where you can openly express yourself and partake of your favorite activities, meals, snacks, and nurturing. Activities range from playtime, story time, nap time, cuddle time, changing time, coloring, nursery rhymes, and sing-a-longs.
More luxurious services include Hyponoregression, Yoga, Massage, Makeovers, and even piggy paint!
We send a snack or meal menu before your special visit so that we will have goodies, especially for you. Our menu will always change to keep things interesting.
In the summer, you can play with your water wings and floaties poolside, picnic under the tree with your teddy bear, play marbles on the patio, or swing on the front porch swing and serve tea to your dollies on the porch. In the winter, we can make snow angels, build snowmen, drink hot cocoa from beneath clouds of whipped cream and sprinkles, and decorate gingerbread men or sugar cookies.

Unshockingly, not all of The Diaper Spa's neighbors are happy about the new facility. A petition was started last weekend that reads, in part:
As residents and patrons of this community, we feel compelled to voice our collective concern and dissatisfaction regarding potential incidents that pose a threat to the safety and well-being of our community members, particularly our children. We strongly ask [for] a firm and continued rejection for this business to operate in our community.

One neighbor said: "You can do what you want in your home, but a business? It’s not right for the community."
Tough call, but I have to say I'd be at least uneasy if I had small children and lived near the spa.
Anyway, Libs of TikTok weighed in with this take:
New Hampshire is now home to "The Diaper Spa" where adults who seek acceptance can come to wear diapers and role-play as children.
Activities include cuddle time, changing time, coloring, & story time. It’s filled with stuffed animals, cribs, high chairs, and plenty of diapers.
The Diaper Spa is located right near a public park where children play.
We need to stop normalizing people's f*tish*s and affirming mental illness!

What say you?

The Bottom Line

To be clear, I'm neither of the mind to pass judgment, here, nor am professionally qualified to make an informed argument against — or in support of — the Diaper Spa, or a similar facility.
That said, as the woke among us continue to add letters and symbols to what was first just LGB, the definition of "normalcy" continues to expand on the left, as well.
I think I'll just leave it here.

I mean, I can see a spa that is accepting of adults who, for medical reasons (incontinence, essentially) HAVE to wear diapers.

But enabling regressing-to-infancy mental illness???
Yeah, when I first saw the headline, I thought it was a fantastic idea for those involuntary incontinent who often choose not to go places because of their condition. But this is something different. No matter what the advertising says, it is playing to a particular fetish crowd. I feel sorry for the employees, especially when the same type of facilities could be powerful and wonderful for those with medical conditions where staff would be professionally trained to deal with the issues that all the other attendees would have. Or all attendees and their families, because that would be a great place for an affected parent or grandparent (especially if further disabled) to spend time with their kids or grandchildren and not have to worry about them having to deal with their physical needs.

Heck, I could even see "Valentine Weekends," where singles with the MEDICAL condition could meet and greet without worry.

But the proposal isn't something I would want to be associated with. To each his own and all that, but I wouldn't personally support it as a business opportunity.

every single one of them a Biden voter
Well, they do seem to all need "someone to take care of them."

"Abandonment of agency."

One could argue that a paid venue is probably a better (and more reliable) purchase than the DNC.

Hmm. Agency. I have jumped the fence ONCE in my younger years.

It was not a fun experience - I was glad to be back in my field.

Here I can meld my agency with Owners.

Diapers? I have seen an apple collection basket on horses, but otherwise:
This not me. Owner would never deign to try such. I can hear him now "Gravity is a force."

He does have a pair of "blinders." Think teamster equine. He's used them once - I missed the turn with the plow once - and the blinders ended up hung from the handles of the plow.

Perhaps with Teamster delivery in cities blinders are an aid?

Neither here nor there.
You know I woke up this morning and wondered what kind of day this would be.

Now I want to go back to bed and sleep some more, and hopefully this nightmare will go away.
