It’s official…Nebraska city council makes it illegal to rent to or hire illegal aliens
On Tuesday night, the Fremont City Council in eastern Nebraska unanimously approved a voter resolution, which bans hiring or renting to illegal aliens. The ballot measure was passed last month with
overwhelming support.
The new ordinance is set to go into effect in two weeks, and will require employers and landlords to verify legal immigration status of potential new hires and renters.
Of course, the action was in response to swelling numbers of illegal aliens, stretching already tight municipal budgets over the limit, rising unemployment among U.S. citizens, and the federal government’s refusal to defend the border.
A similar proposal is now before the city council in Summerville, South Carolina.
The ACLU has vowed to file suit against the town of Fremont to block the new law.
The city is accepting donations to help with the legal costs of defending the law against the ACLU lawsuit.
