Equipment Mom is thinking about selling her loom & spinning wheel.

She says it takes up too much room in her studio.

The loom is a LeClerc (sp) and not sure about the spinning wheel.

IIRC, there is a gob of yarn & thread too.

The loom looks about like the LeClerc Nilus, but I'd have to verify model, details, etc.

If anybody might be interested, shoot me a PM as I may forget this is here. :D

Neither here nor there.

There is a LeClerc group on facebook, I'm sure there's bound to be someone in your area in that group. I have the Nilus and love my loom.

Is it a four or eight harness? Does it come with the castle, that's the thingy on top, and a bench?

Oh wow, if only I was closer! But getting my Baby Wolf over here was enough of a nightmare - it wouldn't have been so bad if my friend's husband had just used the nice instructions from the factory to take it apart (most looms, not all, can be shipped flat).

But this could be a great opportunity for someone who is already a weaver or wants to learn - also see if she has accessories she is willing to part with like a warping board, shuttles, bobbins, bobbin winder, etc. If she has other looms she's probably keeping those but if not providing them for sale with the loom makes life a lot easier for someone starting out.

I got my first real loom (now with a friend who can't afford one) from a lady in the US back when shipping was a lot cheaper - her weaving teacher was in her 90s and boxing up her studio in lots that went together - in my case I got the small hand raised heddle loom, warping board, a shuttle, bobbins and a bobbin winder in one set. I was weaving the first day I got it, not extremely well, but I was weaving.

Ok things a potential buyer will want to know:

How many harnesses 4 or 8 is pretty standard?

Does the loom "fold" at all (my Baby Wolf will fold with a project which makes for easier storage)?

How wide is the weaving area? - A baby Wolf is small 25 inches, some looms are 35 and some are 40, a few are 72, but 35 to 40 is more common.

Does it have rollers or will it be set directly on the floor?

Those are basics, feel free to PM if you need more.

On the wheel

Wheels vary a lot, if you can take a picture I may have a better idea of what it is.
