Baking Milky Way Pound Cake (for packy's birthday)

6 Milky Way bars (is what the original reads, but that was a while back, so 15 ounces of Milky Way bars - the original kind)
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts, optional (I usually make it without)
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Melt 1 stick butter and candy together SLOWLY in the top of a double boiler. Cream 1 stick butter and sugar, add eggs. Add the soda to the buttermilk, then stir into candy mixture. Add candy mixture to butter-sugar-eggs. Slowly add flour a bit at a time. Stir in nuts. Bake in a Bundt or tube pan at 325* for about an hour (check after 45 minutes) or until a toothpick comes out with a moist crumb on it. Frost with fudge frosting.

My Mama's Fudge Frosting
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
dash of salt
1/2 cup milk
1 stick butter
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all but vanilla in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, let boil (full rolling) for 1-2 minutes. Take off heat and let cool for 15 minutes. beat in vanilla, and put on cake when it is of the thickness you like. This will set up like fudge.
