Panic because Arizona is “closing the gaps” in the border wall and getting it done in a very short period of time, existing materials,. If Arizona can do it, other border states can do it. So like Er Me Gerd what if other states start doing it.

LOL. Sorry, the reality is people are just idiots. They don’t need a reason. They’re. Just. Idiots.

So....this is a cartel/gang war between two different factions? Well isn't that just peachy! As if we don't have enough stupid gang crap already in THIS COUNTRY. We really need a "Great Wall of China" that is armed and manned 24/7/365.
A declared deadline/no go zone outside the border - maybe 500 yards minimum
The sky full of observation & armed drones backed up by acoustic ground mics all integrated with a mapping/targeting app
Mobile GPMG teams deployed on trucks to deal with surges

Finally, the US needs to enforce all statutes relevant to illegal migration

I suspect that if/when the warlord battles (some of which have included tanks and heavy weaponry) start to spill over onto US territory (and as I've said for at least three years if they are not stopped, they will). Then suddenly both parties won't be able to get funding for a serious wall fast enough. It may not be the Great Wall of China, but it will be militarized, though there will also be issues with "real" refugees and displaced people that will have to be dealt with.

Optics of shooting women and small children running from warlords trying to chase them into the US do not play well. On the other hand, a properly secured and defended border might be able to negotiate with Mexico for "safe haven" areas on THEIR side of the border which people could use to apply for US visas if they qualify and at least be somewhat protected if they don't.

In a really serious situation, you do a version of what Ukraine did - only women, children, and very elderly or disabled people are allowed to live in the protected areas. Boys get a choice of joining the military or leaving at say age 17 or 18 - those that don't qualify for the military can do some sort of national or regional service in Mexico (or the US if the US decides to have some camps on both sides of the border).

The real question is, will Mexico totally fall apart into warring States and Warlords or will there still be some sort of central government the US can negotiate with? That will make a huge difference in the best way to deal with this crisis because it won't go away, just because everyone wants it to.

A key point is the role of the current economic situation impacts the cash flow going back to Mexico and its distribution therein.

The jail riot that was reported to have spilled over into the outside causing this current level of open conflict was the spark in the tinder. Now we wait to see if the wind propagates it....

And the next question, after yours, to ask is, "When will the Mexican border states secede from Mexico and ask America to let them become part of America?"

That's when a real country with a non-criminal govt would activate the Warlord Hunting Club to eliminate the problem - unless Shakazulu and Millievanilli have kicked them to the curb.

ETA- And helping with the OSINT workup on that tasking would almost make me want to go back to work ....

Real refugees and displaced people are supposed to be delt with by the first country they enter.

Makes me wonder what the "rip cord" info that will come out of the "Pit" event might be, could it be related to invasion forces crossing Mexico to stifle incontrovertible evidence and concrete information that Nov 2020 was actually a coup and our gov. has been thoroughly infiltrated by foreign and domestic traitors?

And if they are running from real Warlords in Mexico, that could be the United States. Though you will notice I suggested that if possible, safe zones should be set up on the MEXICAN side of the border, perhaps overseen by UN troops (or others) if Mexico can not arrange it.

I also agree, that if Mexico totally falls into warring states (which it could) the US is going to face a decision on getting involved or not; at the very least they WILL be involved when it spills over into the USA.

As I said, a lot depends on if Mexico manages to have a central government or if everything there falls apart, if the latter then you have a different set of rules because there is no one government to negotiate with.

What did we end up deciding on last weeks thread- half a dozen battalions/couple divisions roll in per month, and that the organizations had stable enough routes and manpower on this side of the (faux) border to run a military event if/when they decide to- or at least cause some industrial sized mayhem?
I prefer ILLEGAL INVASION FORCE.

The impetus this time was in (jail) house rival cartel groups fighting, and subsequent attempts to arrest leaders of one of the cartels. The burning is a fairly effective and intentional method employed in order to evade and impede response of the opposition in the guerrilla (?) type operations that spring up from time to time due to intra-cartel and "gov"-cartel crackdowns.

As I told yas years ago, - well first, I'd put you, chuck, House, & maybe rags on this lil problem, with complete confidence it could and would be solved. Barring that, though, I still stand by my claim that if you give aman the space, permission, opportunity, and NEED to rise to the level of a Pershing or Patton, some will heed the call and succeed.
Digging up Pershing and Patton would be more likely. We do not have their equals today.
