BRKG Main Campus Protest thread... Spreading to more campuses AND BEYOND post #816

@NYPDChiefPatrol

This morning, @nyuniversity & @TheNewSchool requested @nypdnews to clear protesting students on their grounds. “Options” were afforded to the student protesters, with some leaving and 56 choosing arrest. There were no incidents, nor injuries to report. Once again the NYPD was extremely professional in their response!

However, as we have been stating for the past 2 weeks, there is an underlying radical indoctrination of some of these students. Vulnerable and young people being influenced by professional agitators. Who is funding and leading this movement?

We found numerous disturbing pieces of literature in both encampments but wanted to highlight this most disturbing one, clearly stating:

“Death to America !”

NEW: Ole Miss students chant ‘Lizzo Lizzo Lizzo’ at a pro-Palestine protester before the police had to intervene as she approached the boys.

What a stark contrast from the Ivy League schools.

The protesters eventually had to be evacuated off campus as they were heavily outnumbered by the counter protesters.

Only 50 pro-Palestine protesters showed up. They were flooded by 200 counter-protestors according to the Clarion Ledger.

I was wondering why they were chanting "Lizzo". Then I watched the video

HOLY CRAP!!! They are using "percussion grenades"???

I think that is against the Geneva Convention.
Not neccessarily. If it is used by police to suppress a violent riot it is somewhat allowed, just severely frowned upon. CS gas grenades used by police would be frowned upon as well, however, the core is that no excessive use of force is done, it is merely done to reciprically respond to a threat to force a back down.

Find out who bought all the green tents that miraculously sprouted like mushrooms nationwide on 40 odd campuses

Did Walmart make a windfall off all the sudden need for a green dome tent?

Arrest ratios of students vs non students aka 'off campus outside agitators' by NYPD.

NEW: Counter protesters are blasting 'Born in the USA' while waving their USA flags at the University of Chicago.

The Chads are taking over the country

Tensions grew on Friday as a group of frat bros marched on the university with USA flags, chanting "USA, USA, USA" at Muslims gathered for prayer according to the Chicago Tribune.

The school also announced they were preparing to "intervene" to remove the pro-Palestine encampment.

Those tents serve multi-purposes. Shelter from elements for people and gear, aids in concealing how many may be assembled (are the tents empty or are people in them), a bomb could be placed one, if the cops want to raid them they'll need to search the tents individually, they slow the cops down because they can conceal threats.

Sigh. Next up, the pro-terror mob will be ruining commencement ceremonies for tens of thousands of students across the country. This was the University of Michigan.

Sad. We just attended our daughter’s graduation at Detroit Wayne State University yesterday and I was watchful. Lots of Palestinian scarves and shawls worn but nothing else. Whew.

I think the woman in post 683 needs to do that more than these do.

For about 6 months.

At least.

Parents try to get tuition refunds and threaten to pull donations in backlash to anti-Israel protests - Washington Examiner

Pro-Palestinian protests continue to rock colleges in the United States, and administrators are starting to hear from more than just the students.

Parents paying for their children to attend elite institutions are getting fed up with universities’ response to the spate of protests.

As classes and finals get canceled and students are forced to avoid their own campuses, parents have resorted to contacting their schools for refunds and have reconsidered their positions as donors to colleges.

“They are not getting the education they expected and paid for,” Zev Gewurz, a lawyer whose daughter goes to Barnard College in New York City, told the Wall Street Journal.

Barnard is a prime example of a costly education. The university costs about $90,000 to attend this academic year, more than what many families make in a year.

According to a 2023 Sallie Mae report, typical families need parents to account for about half of their students’ college tuition. Students account for less than a quarter.

Barnard ranks No. 11 in national liberal arts colleges as a women’s college affiliated with Columbia, which cranks up the heat for the college to take appropriate action.

Gewurz thinks Barnard has provided an “inadequate response” to what he calls hate speech, but he has reassured his daughter.

“I try to tell her that this is not her fault and that she is living in a moment in history and needs to keep her head high,” he said.

Lingering on the other side of the Israeli-Palestinian spectrum lies more frustration with colleges.

A parent of a student at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia, Sarah Fanning, doesn’t understand why colleges feel the need to arrest protesters for trespassing, some of whom could be students who live on campus. The university arrested 12 protesters, nine of them students.

This has caused Fanning to reconsider donating to the school unless the university chooses to support the students publicly. UMW President Troy Paino said events “that do not follow instructions, attempt to disrupt classes or activities, or endanger the health, safety, and security of our campus community will not be allowed.”

Christopher Rim, founder and CEO of Command Education, which helps students complete college applications for competitive schools, said he received calls from parents who want partial or full refunds from the schools.

“Physically blocking their child from attending class or a lecture hall is 100% not what they signed up for,” Rim said. “They are beyond upset at what’s going on.”

Here is a Russ Winter vid from yesterday about the current student protests. He is sympathetic to the students, but he couldn’t help but notice the obvious funding, planning and other manipulations behind the scenes. His website is :

This behavior is abhorrent. Any of them that are here on student visas need to be deported ASAP.

They want to name places in America after terrorists.

I think parents should start suing the colleges for return of tuition & fees plus emotional damages for students prevented from attending classes and/or exposed to endangerment & hostile environment due to the school's failure to disband the encampments and provide a safe environment.

Not there and not then.

Protests weren't Big Biz in 70-72.

Unless y'all have specific personal experiences to the contrary. In which case I am ALL EARS!
Too many outsiders - SDS, Weathermen, Socialist groups, etc. They all arrived almost simultaneously. Highly organized, well fed and obviously with funds. Someone funded this. Way too organized.

AQAG, NECNVA, and a bunch of other communes all came together, I was fortunate enough to attend a Nonviolent Trainer Trainer course in Cleveland supported by one of the local Friend's Meetings. We were almost all freelancers in 70-71-72.

(AQAG--A Quaker Action Group
NECNVA -- New England Community for Non-Violent Action, as well as a spinoff CNVA -- Community for Non-Violent Action. YES, there may well have been a lot of cross-pollination at the time. My community, New Swarthmoor Community contributed a LOT of folks who at the TIME were budding "Heavy Friends" and starting to write on Quaker Theology. INTERESTING Intelects.)

1) Most of those folks were funded by interesting bank jobs.
2) RELIC and I dodged a bullet today with doing some medical volunteering at Cleveland State, for a short MS Walk, as NOBODY came around the corner to the Wolstein Center and wanted to make trouble.
