Story Looking for a story

I am looking for a story about a man that lived in the mountains, after TSHTF, with his family and he caught and trained wild horses. He would take his family to a community barter fair and had a fight with the community bully. He had a hermit to watch over his place and bartered stuff for him. Dont remember his name. The local sherriff was a woman who did not take crap from anybody. Anybody remember the story and where it is?

I do remember that story. Can't think of the name off hand though. Will have a browse thru my stories folder.

I think Jerry's publisher made him pull all his stories from this board. I cannot find it on any board. It is in one of his collections of short stories on Kindel.

Are we in a sharing mood?

That's one of the few Jerry stories I don't recall.

ETA:

Found it on a thumb drive

This is going to sound stupid.... but I can't figure out how to email on TB! LOL!!

I found how to have a conversation, but from what I remember from Dennis before, a conversation is different from an email. And I don't know where to do email! LOL!

I'd love to have you email me the book by Jerry, CG. I have so many of his other books, but not that one. But you'll have to email me first so I can figure out how and where to get to email. :p

And I'd love to know where/how you got a cd with all Jerry's stories, wab. The books of his that I have on my kindle have been read over and over and over. So I'd love to have some new ones to read.

Or even getting the book from you, kiwi. I have the same problem. Don't know how to get to or from. LOL!

I just tried to send it to myself lol and couldn't for the life of me figure it out, said something about it going to Document Cloud.... I might get my tech niece to help me out or I might try to cut and past (that I know how to do) lol, just private message me your personal email and I will see what I can do. By the way I just re read it, its a goodie as usual from Jerry.

HAS anyone checked to location of the big dipper lately ?
From my A.O. At 2:20pm CDT, the Big Dipper was very large and level with the northern horizon.
What is up.
It looks like the Earth/Terra has moved again.
But, who can do this, to the Earth but the Almighty himself ??

Your A.O. must be farther north than mine, when the Big Dipper is level, it is below the tree line here. Like the moon, it appears larger because it is closer to the horizon.

I zipped over to Amazon and checked Kindle - I bought quite a few of his books back when he first put them on Amazon; and added then added some on Kindle. I didn't see that particular book, but I did see a LOT of his books - some were available on Kindle Unlimited, if you happen to have that. Some were 99 cents or $1; and there were others that were more expensive. I was amazed as I went through the lists - I kept saying "I remember that one, and that one, and oh yeah - that one too...." Such a prolific doom fiction writer!!
