I think the uncle should use that info to target them.
A micro camera, a little coverage for the niece, and find out who's doing it.

No, I can see it being the girl. But the car will be a bonus in a chop shop. The thing is, if they think she is vulnerable then she is doing something that leads them to believe that she could be easily snatched. She needs some tutoring in situational awareness and needs to start using it.

I'd say both. Having a gun on hand, or any weapon on hand, won't protect you if you're not aware enough of your surroundings to make sure that it is in your hand to use when you need it.

Apple airtags cost $$$, while zip ties are probably a nickel a piece.
Airtags can be tracked to the owner. Also, there are apps for people who want to scan their vehicles or whatever, to check and see if an airtag is attached!

Meh..the $30 for an airtag is good ROI if I'm gonna "sell" someone as a sex slave.
While it is more difficult to open a icloud account compared to years ago..If i wanted to spend the time to do so via a sock puppet account I could do it...also if my business is trafficking...then I got a guy for that.
I could just have someone buy me a "burner" phone with cash..track the phone with the bluetooth turned off
As for apps...I'd bet 99+% of people don't have that app installed on either their android or iphone or use it everytime they enter their vehicle.
As for the whole zip tie story (I'm a cynic) I call BS.
