Decided to plant some lettuce a couple weeks ago in a raised container on the back porch. Using a plastic bin to cover. Haven’t been able to check on them for about 5 days but did today and the lettuce survived!! So happy!! This is the first time I’m attempting at growing lettuce like this in the winter. That's pretty neat! I'm also in Arkansas, a good ways north of Russellville and most cold-hardy things can survive in my unheated greenhouse. This year the strawberries are still totally green and I'm expecting a fairly early picking if our spring is anywhere near normal. And I swear the onions and garlic out there haven't even noticed that it's winter!
