No true package receiver or interceptor would do that.

The only party identifying itself is Dennis, to two strangers in all but name initially, and with regards to the LEO’s with a full incident report.

A 2nd visit by the strangers might be avoided if a copy of the police report was taped to the front door, and displayed on the windshield of the vehicle is parked outdoors.

Any vocalization by the GSD was a good thing, as was the vocalization by Dennis armed and GTFOOHere!

Still. Consider the fact that two guy’s showed up on your door, instead of one. That in itself showcases [intimidation] or [back-up]!

Seriously! They didn’t introduce themselves as your neighbor across the street, so these @$$-#@+’$ are either criminals of unknown specific intent, or ‘back-up clowns’ wanting a F2F.

Lol. I used to do that all the time. They’d ring the front door bell and I’d open window and utilizing my most “precious” voice say “Can I Help YOOOU!”

I was generally a total bad person to everyone, because if you’re ringing my front door bell, you ain’t my type. The window thing always freaked them out bc you had to GET OFF MY PORCH to speak with me.

About 10-14 days ago, I had an odd visit from a guy in his early 30's

I had just sat down to a burger and had taken two bites when I heard a knock on the door. If I am not expecting someone I don't open my front door. Came around and met him on my front lawn.

While not scruffy he looked kinda sloppy. The only thing in his hands looked like a porfolio, but realized it was an iPad in a case.

He had no visible photo ID around his neck, as required locally for door to door solicitors.

I said how can I help you? I caught him off-guard and he stuttered something. I figured he was door to door sales. So I asked him who do you work for? He mumbled a name that was unintelligible, In asked him again, but sounded like Sci-linda, so I said what? more mumbling.

I could not understand and felt he was deliberately mumbling unintelligible words, as he didn't know what to say to my questions.

So I said to him, What product or Service are you selling? He finally said Solar Electric. I said I'm not interested (the small size of my roof, the orientation and trees blocking light make my home difficult for solar installs. (That is what my brother who sold solar for 20 yrs told me.) He replied, so you're against Cheap electricity?
I found it so odd of a question I made a funny face, he didn't like and started to walk away.

I go back inside and finish burger, I was damm hungry before this nonsense started.

I finished the burger (<5mins) and decided to drive around my neighborhood to see what house this guy was at. Couldn't find him, expended my search a bit, stilll no sign of him.

Across the street my neighbors were on their porch so I went to ask if they had noticed this guy. Indeed they had noticed him. They said they guy struck them as odd. I asked the neighbors "did you see him come from, or go to anyone else?" Wife spoke first, saying what struck her as odd is that it seemed that he was only interested your house. Husband confirmed it was odd he only went to your place. No cars were seen.

(Now that same day an Orkin Pest Salesman came by, dressed in an Orkin uniform shirt and slacks with a photo ID badge visible around his neck as required. He was neatly dressed in well fitted clothes, he had Business cards, brochures etc).

Whom ever that guy was he was NOT a Salesperson with ANY type of training. He was gathering info on me specifically, I have no proof but I'm always a bit paranoid.

Now I back my 4Runner in to my driveway. Backing in, the drivers side and my gasoline fill-up, can be seen by multiple neighbors Ring Cameras. When pulled in to driveway nose first, the drivers side is obscured by my neighbors large hedge. I'm expecting rampant gasoline thefts soon.

My suspicions are this was political in nature and related to a legislation recently prohibiting California Doctors from proscribing any drugs or therapeutics not authorized by the Calif legislature. In the bill they specifically call out several (most) of the things we bought or took for Covid19. In fact several of the compounds like Ivermectin were specifically mentioned when the legislation was written. The examples given are NOW FDA approved for Covid 19. So that legislation was for no other purpose than to prohibit Doctors from proscribing treatments other than what has been Gov' approved. Wrote a couple letters over that, calm but emphatic against Calif Politicians telling Calif Doctors they can't recommend treatments, that are in fact now approved.

Sigh. Sometimes it would just be nice to walk into your house again and not have to do all that crap.

If I had a neighbor I trusted who was nearby, I might talk to them and see if they will watch your place when you leave (cursory type) and call them when I left and came back. Something like that. Just for a few weeks. I’m not sure I trust anyone that much anymore. But you’ll know that person if you have one.

one of the tricks the use, to get you to open the door, if you dont open the door is talk low, so you cant hear them.
But if i can't hear them, i say so and tell them to speak up or leave! i open the door for nobody I dont know and cant ascertain their credentials!

That's why I have heavy duty security screen doors on all my home's exits.....and they are ALWAYS LOCKED.

I'd have a moat around my place if I could.....with something deadly swimming in it.

I'm female. I don't open the door after dark at all. Period. I can talk to you through the door just fine. My phone is in my hand in case you decide to be stupid. Not really worried about them breaking through the door anymore. The outer two panes are glass. The inner pane is Lexan. By the time anyone realizes it, recovers, and tries to get through it again, I'm already armed and calmly telling 911 where to come, to collect bodies if the troublemakers make it past the door. And thanks to several family members in security fields, the other weak points of doors have been handled in advance.

Nowadays most folks know better than to go to a house after dark. Well, at least to do it without stepping back and making sure that the homeowner has plenty of room to see you and decide whether to answer. Heck, the last time I went to a door after dark was this past winter when I needed to tell a neighbor that someone had been casing his house. And he waited until I was walking away and halfway across the lawn before he came out. I just stayed where I was to talk to him. And he knew me. He had been my neighbor for 5 years.

One is far more legally protected if someone breaks down the door and enters as opposed to opening the door for the perps without physical signs of forced entry.

Cattle panel fence with 6" diameter posts 8' apart topped with 2X6 planks, locked stock gate across the driveway, cell numbers on a commercially printed sign by the gate. The lock is a utility company supplied lock since they have a right of way on our property and might need access when no one is home. Commercial sign on gate says 'Be aware of dogs when opening gate' that is left over from the Fila days.
