Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano, one of the world's most active volcanoes, has just begun erupting just moments ago and is currently unleashing spectacular massive lava fountains inside Halema'uma'u Crater. The USGS has issued a red warning for Kilauea volcano due to its production of volcanic toxic gases and active lava flows. Officials say that a recent swarm of earthquakes triggered the eruption. There is no threat to the public at this time.

Pele might not like the corrupt political "sacrifices." She would know that they were not made in the spirit of sacrifice. If she felt like her volcano was used as an expedient solution to a problem, she might take offense. You don't want to make a volcano god angry!

(I wonder if she would be offended if they were put into the lava flow once it left the cone. That would be different. Not a sacrifice, as such. Still fixes a problem.)
