For those of us still on the fence wondering which one to buy. I kinda like the big 26,000 gallon capacity ones for relief organizations, but they are always over $800. Anyway, C&C Outdoors is having a Spring Sale and the Katadyn pocket microfilter, 13,000 gal. capacity (the second biggest) is on sale for $179 with free shipping! The big one is on sale for $839.
I'm getting the the $179 Katadyn and with a second filter element, I'll have the capacity of the big one at a fraction of the cost. Of course, the difference between the two is the volume delivery, 1 L/min. for the pocket microfilter vs. 1 gallon/min. for the biggie.
