Made a couple more collage necklaces. Both were difficult to get the colors right. Finally took them on black background:

Wisconsin Gardener, I just love the necklace above with the amber stones....

I just love Amber glass and stones. It just radiates warmth...That's why my handle here is Amberglass. :-) .....That necklace is just beautiful.

Awww - thank you! That necklace lives in North Carolina now. Someone bought it as a Christmas gift. I love those colors, too, and will undoubtedly not be able to resist making more.

Here's an example of a necklace I made to match a photo. I just finished this one. I call it "Galician Evening."

And here's the photo (from http://pabloavanzini.com/ and used with permission). It's a picture of the Atlantic coast near Ferrol in Galicia, Spain:

Hopefully, I nailed it. If any of you have a photo and would like me to make a necklace to match, I'd love to do that.

One more set. This was one where someone sent me the photo and asked me to make a necklace to match.

So, here was the photo they sent:

And here's the necklace I made for them:

Came up with a new idea - a little bit scarf, a little bit necklace. Maybe just a touch complicated - sort of like life. I think it would really look pretty with a business suit.

So, the scarf necklaces have been pretty popular. I've made a bunch of different ones and they've been selling pretty quickly. Here's another necklace I just finished for fall (it's at my Etsy store).

Gardner, I admire your photography to the highest, but your beading looks top notch. This coming from a "rockhound" that cuts semiprofessionally rare gems and in the past attempted beading and stringing pearls, my admiration for your abilities are way out there.
My love is outdoors in the pin'on and lodgepole pine and the slopes of our southwestern mountains while camping and searching for the little bits of rough. Peridot and Plagioclase here in NM is my favorite two collectibles.

Thank you! I wish I knew how to drill the stones and gemstones for stringing. I'm attempting to teach myself wire wrapping, but my efforts are not sell-worthy yet.

I love using natural materials to make the necklaces, and the nice thing is that with my style, rough gemstone nuggets and funny-shaped pearls work just fine.

My brother spent several years in New Mexico, rock hounding there while working on his Masters in Geology. He has lots of stories to tell - from getting shot at to many encounters with snakes. Fortunately, he lived to tell the tale. Sounds like the scenery is incredible. Enjoy!

It looks like any pictures I had posted that were linked to Facebook are gone, now. Hopefully the Etsy ones will stay put, even if the necklace sells.

A more slender, lighter weight (less expensive) version of my twisty necklaces - Merry Christmas!

il_570xN.879610782_f8fk.jpg

You can find its listing here, if you're interested.

I just love the "lighter" look here. Wish I had this to wear to a church Christmas dinner last night. I found something at Kohl's, but they had NOTHING that compared to your work. I hope you keep it up, you're very talented.

Oh, BTW, is it too late to order for Christmas?

Depending on where you live, not at all! It might be too late to get overseas, but Georgia should be totally fine. The exception might be a complicated "made to order" thing.

Here are a couple of "May" (because of the emerald color birthstone!) necklaces. The second one does actually have real rough emeralds in it.

Beautiful WG! I also think making beautiful things is good therapy. We think alike in that for sure.

Awesome work! Boy I wish I could get pictures like yours. Were you a photgrapher too? You could of been a professional if not. Really nice!

Thank you!!! But, no, not a professional by any means. A good eye for set up maybe. I bought my camera (Nikon P530 from Walmart) with two things in mind - it had to take good pictures in whatever light and it needed to take good closeups. The fact that it includes an "anti shake" feature is a definite positive. Unlike my old camera, one charge lasts a very long time. Then, I use the photo editor that comes with Windows 10 to play with the photos until they are as realistic colored as possible (as you know from selling online, the pictures are your product, and they need to look like your product actually looks.)

My "studio" is the floor in front of my patio door - all natural, reflected light (no direct sun) - and my backdrop is usually scrapbook paper. Pretty low tech.

Thank you for that WG. I have a friend who I know can take very awesome photo's and he called me today. He said he'd try to get over in the next couple of weekends and do some pictures for me. He has the equipment and he's been dabbling in photography all his life. Probably could of been a professional. The camera issue has been the number one problem for me in getting a store up on Etsy. I appreciate your wise advice. Thank you!
