Avalon (Japanese: アヴァロン, Hepburn: Avaron), also known as Gate to Avalon, is a 2001 Polish-language Japanese science fiction drama film directed by Mamoru Oshii and written by Kazunori Itō. The film stars Małgorzata Foremniak as Ash, a player in an illegal virtual reality video game whose sense of reality is challenged as she attempts to unravel the true nature and purpose of the game. Avalon was filmed in Wrocław, Nowa Huta, the Modlin Fortress and Warsaw.

According to Oshii, one of the advantages of shooting the film in Poland was that Polish Armed Forces were willing to lend their equipment (T-72 tanks and Mi-24 attack helicopters, among others) to the film makers without any additional fees.

(This is the original, Andy Williams had the cover hit.)

"Bob Crew admitted in an interview that this recording came about because he heard the Pepsi ad this song was written for and felt there was a hit record in it! Of course he was right! it sounds Tijuana brass meets James bond with a bit of the tenor sax solo from the middle section of the pink panther theme. Think about it, you will hear it. "

Robin Ford in his debut allbum of the band he formed with such tastful blues/jazz fusion of electric guitar playing..."Rush Hour"......perhaps the best jazz fusion album of its time............get it and play it in the car when you have to drive somewhere and you will thank me for that.

I'll close with perhaps the most beautiful composition /movement ever written......... by French composer Debussy who almost went insane trying to compose the full orchestra of this being a movement within it..........Claire de Luna. with an unbelievable interpretation of it on an instrument that fasinates me...........the harp.
