Isuzu 4x4 owners

I know Doc1 and Manybooks are Isuzu owners. Any others? I missed my '86 TD Trooper and so bought a 91 Troop today with the GM 2.8 and auto tranny...

I was unaware that the Trooper used GM engines. (Always bought GM p/u's)

Are the externals (alt, a/c, etc) GM also? Inquiring minds want to know

I might want to look into another class of vehicle.

Well, my GM background is pretty minimal,but I think that the 2.8 and all accessories are a package as is the GM auto tranny it's bolted to. That 2.8 get's around. Jeep Cherokee's prior to 87, Isuzu's I'm not sure what year range(early 90's?).
I was doing some reading online last night and found that the GM 3.4 v-6 is an easy swap as is the 4.3 TBi unit to upgrade the 2.8 TBi I've got.
