it seems there is a (now) legal battle for the life a Scott Quiner. on the surface, it seems to be just a sad covid case and a wife that won't accept reality.

and up until yesterday, most people didn't even know this battle was taking place, because no news media would report on it. silence.

but then, an emergency broadcast by the stew peters show changed that. it then didn't sound so much like a cut and dry case of a wife that can't let her husband go.

i was only alerted to it because my husband asked me if i had heard about it. he only knew about it because he had checked a facebook page because we are starting a snow storm, and we needed to see if a certain activity was going to be canceled. he saw it, and started listening to the show and looking for more info

here is the broadcast:

i have not been able to find anything in the news except for what finally started being posted yesterday. i'm pretty sure it was only because of that show. details are very sparse and vague in the regular media, and it is only after the judge blocked the hospital from removing him from life support.

An Anoka County judge has ordered that Mercy Hospital must leave a Buffalo, Minnesota, man on a ventilator.
Scott Quiner was diagnosed with COVID-19 last fall and hospitalized in Waconia in October. His wife Anne told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that Scott was transferred to Mercy Hospital in November where he remains sedated and on a ventilator.
A lawsuit filed Wednesday against the hospital alleges that doctors at the hospital were planning to take COVID-19 patient Scott Quiner off the ventilator Thursday.
"I have advised the doctors that I vehemently disagree with this action and do not want my husband's ventilator turned off," Anne Quiner states in the filing.
On Thursday, Judge Jennifer Stanfield ordered that Mercy Hospital cannot turn the ventilator off. A hearing is set for Feb. 11. In the meantime, Stanfield told both parties to put together their legal arguments on the authority to remove someone from life support in Minnesota.
Allina Health, which operates Mercy Hospital, said it was "unable to comment on specific patient care" for privacy reasons.
"We will follow the court’s order in this case and continue to work through the legal process. In the meantime, our care teams remain committed to providing exceptional care to all our patients based on the best medical science and treatments for a patient’s medical condition," Allina said in a statement. "We continue to focus on our patients and meeting the critical care needs of the community as we all navigate this challenging time together."
Anne Quiner says she has been working to transfer her husband to a hospital in Texas for future care.

Stew Peters’ Viewers Create Temporary Victory In Scott Quiner Case- Mercy Hospital Ordered To Not Kill Him

BY LEAH ANAYA
JANUARY 13, 2022

COON RAPIDS, MN – This week, the Stew Peters Show brought information on an attempted medical murder by Mercy Hospital in Minnesota. Now, we have an update on the situation, and there is a pending court hearing to determine whether Scott will be given the chance to survive.

Scott Quiner is a patient at Mercy, and his wife, Anne, is trying to save his life while the hospital effectively kills him. That may sound melodramatic, but it’s very real. Mercy hospital placed Scott on a ventilator per their COVID-19 protocol, and administered drugs to keep him sedated.

The hospital, as we’ve been hearing nationwide, is refusing to administer drugs that Anne has requested, such as, but not limited to, Ivermectin, even though a doctor from another hospital wrote him prescriptions. They’re also refusing to let Anne sign an Against Medical Advice (AMA) discharge form to let Scott leave and transfer care to other doctors who will do what it takes to keep Scott alive. Mercy allegedly has not been giving Scott the much needed vitamins and nutrition his body needs to help fight the virus, as Anne has asked them to do.

Anne shared with Stew recorded phone calls with multiple doctors who had seen Scott telling her that his lungs were “destroyed” from the Covid pneumonia. One doctor, Dr. Linda Soucie, had the nerve to say to Anne, “If we could turn back time and he had gotten vaccinated…” Rightly so, Anne shut her down before the doctor could even finish her sentence.

Scott’s other organs are all working perfectly- his heart, his kidneys, even his brain scan came back normal, Anne said.

They’re denying Scott the right to leave. They’re denying Anne the right to try (other treatments). They’re denying Scott proper nutrition.

The hospital reportedly received over 300,000 phone calls on Wednesday, January 12, after Stew brought this story to light, asking them to give Scott the care Anne is requesting, or release him so she can get the care for him elsewhere. This reporter called as well, and the person who answered the phone (she refused to tell me her name) hung up on me- twice. The hospital reported the calls to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, saying they were being harassed.

At midnight Thursday morning, Mercy Hospital retained a well-known attorney in the area, Fredrikson & Byron, to fight the restraining order that Anne’s attorney, Marjorie Holsten, has submitted to restrict Mercy from taking Scott off the ventilator and effectively allowing him to die. Originally, the hospital asked Anne to sign papers releasing the hospital from liability and agreeing to place her husband in a comfort care unit. Obviously, Anne refused, but the hospital decided to move forward with it anyway.

The Quiners with Thomas Renz, who has been working to fight the narrative that Covid shots are completely safe and effective. Renz was able to get an emergency court hearing, and the hospital is not allowed to effectively kill Scott until at least February 11, when the hearing is set to take place.

Fredrikson & Byron called Renz to let him know they would be fighting the restraining order. Just to clarify, this firm (and the hospital) are fighting an order that restricts them from killing Scott by not treating him. Further, the firm is attempting to help the hospital keep Scott in their custody, denying Anne’s request to transfer him to a hospital in Texas that has agreed to care for him (properly).

How is Anne to trust Scott to Mercy’s care when they were set to kill him this very day? What’s more, if they don’t want to actually treat him, why does Mercy want Scott to stay put? Of course, there is financial motivation, but they can’t come right out and say that.

When Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart called Anne to discuss the “harassment” that poor Mercy hospital has been forced to endure on behalf of Scott, she happened to be on the phone with Renz. So, they had a three-way phone call. At the direction of Renz, Sheriff Stuart is opening a criminal investigation into Mercy hospital for medical assault, abuse, and attempted murder.

“We are literally asking [Stew’s audience] to help us save a life,” said Renz. “We are combining what we can do in the courts with what you, the people, can do. You have the power.” Renz continued that every single person should still be calling the hospital as well as state representatives. He said that the attorney general (Keith Ellison) should be working on a murder case, and the governor (Tim Walz) should “get off his butt” and help in this situation.

“They are intentionally ignoring the fact that there are effective treatments,” he continued. “Take Ivermectin out of the picture. There are treatments…there are studies done by experts. [They’re letting people die]…This time we have an opportunity to save someone, and it’s only gonna happen if We The People step up.”

“We are watching them,” Stew said. “The entire world is watching them.”

Even so, the local media is still refusing to report on the situation. Stew spoke with some of them, who said that since they haven’t been able to get ahold of Anne, they’ll just speak with the hospital and report with what they’re saying. Meaning, the locals won’t even get a clear picture of what’s going on unless they tune in to the Stew Peters Show.

If we don’t take a stand against these ‘death camp hospitals,'” Renz said, “God help us all.”

If that sheriff was worth beans he would go in and physically remove the man from the hospital. No one has a right to hold you against your will. Sounds like kidnapping charges could be brought against the hospital administrator.

Er... just the cost of the specialized ambulance and team required to move him isn't in the sheriff's budget, and they've got to have all arrangements for where he's going next made ahead of time. It gets very complicated.

Yes, it would be complicated, but it could all be arranged. I would think the hospital would be glad to make the arrangements, and foot the bill in exchange for no charges made.

This happens at the UK Medical Center. Not only is there insurance but hospitals get money for every step of a covid patient's care including death. If you're going to save a loved one you must transfer them immediately after the court order is issued and take the sheriff with you 'cause it will be a battle to remove the patient. If you leave them there, overnight, after the court order is issued they will unexpectedly pass away during the night. The hospital is paid for a covid death.

Yes, you can accept responsibility and transport the patient in your personal vehicle. Make it part of the court order. Yes, there are portable ventilators - they aren't as good but will do for a short trip.

Unless I had a personal relationship with my doctor and my doctor is associated with the covid hospital I would not check into my local covid hospital. Even then keep a close watch that the patient is not transferred - which is how they get the patient out from under the personal physician's care.

Does a man who baits a hook intend to catch a fish ?

Just seems a lot of hospitals been trying—succeeding— in murdering a lot of people last couple of years.
In many hospitals, the standard of care does not involve IVM or HCQ (I support both so my comment is not criticizing such therapeutics). Doctors given staff privilege are discouraged from administering those therapies in favor of that institution's standard of care. That is why it is important NOT to go to a hospital. If already in the hospital, one is at the mercy of a judge who may not necessarily side with the patient but the hospital. Plan ahead...your life may depend upon it

Because of the VAST diversity of human biological, physiology and anatomy EVERYONE is slightly different and that there are no EXACT 1000% treatment that works for everyone across the board every time. This is ecause every human being is slightly different. One form of treatment does not work for 100% of the population. Everyone reacts to treatment and medication.

There is no excuse for not try anything and everything that might save a life. Especially if what they are using isn't working. The first priority absolutely sould be to save life.....not make money.

It may take cases like these to wake people up.
It takes winning cases like these to wake healthcare providers up.

With all the studies coming out the medical PTB are going to have more problems defending the status quo. The laws governing the application of alternative cost effective treatments aren't going to help them.

That story should have mentioned that hospitals get $50,000 (or is it $145,000?) from the government for EACH dead covid patient. That would instantly wake up the public and put a stop to this gruesome covid death payment to hospitals.

No, I'm saying that people want medicine but then do nothing but denigrate those who provide it.

Very Karen-esque. with about as much rational though applied.

Respect is earned....not bestowed.

In this particular instance the behavior of the hospital is abhorrent. Even if the IVM and other meds are not in corporate's Covid protocols with a patient this ill there is nothing to lose and there are laws on the books to allow such treatment to go forward with no liability to the hospital and it is what the family wants.

Instead the hospital wants to take him off the vent effectively killing him and are not even willing to try other therapies. If you call this medicine then it reaffirms to me at least that I want as little to do with doctors and hospitals as possible. Even if you get a good doctor, corporate is going to step in and not allow him/her to go outside the current playbook and try to save the life.

Exactly!

But even the true believers in ivermectin need to understand *nothing works on everyone*! For whatever reason, some folks see very little improvement from ivermectin, and end up needing hospital care. The biggest advantage ivermectin has is its an oral medication that can be used at home, and it's *extremely safe*, unlike Remdesivir, steroids and most of what they are using as the "standard of care".

Our society has such a weird attitude towards death... it's as if people actually believe they can avoid it! Once you reach a certain level of damage, it's beyond anything even modern medicine can fix. If God doesn't provide a miracle (and I've seen a couple, so I don't discount the possibility), then you're going to die. Lying sedated on a vent that's breathing for you is NOT life!

That is great. Ideally everyone would get the care they needed without limits.

Who will pay for it? That is one question.

The reality is that if he is sedated and on a vent he will never recover. I have seen it too many times. The lungs are too damaged and non-compliant. Ivermectin will do nothing. He has recovered from the virus a long time ago. This is a structural problem. Leaving AMA? Are you going to ambu bag him all the way to Texas? They mention that brain scans were normal....but what capacity does he have? The degree of wasting from being bed-borne will be largely insurmountable if he were to magically wake up and breathe normally. He surely has a PEG tube for nutrition. It is quite likely he already has a trach as they are not going to keep an endotracheal tube in for more than a few weeks before doing one. We know nothing about his prior medical condition but any chronic disease only further clouds any chance of a meaningful recovery. The fact is he will lay in the bed, develop inevitable bedsores, waste away until something significant finishes him off...a stroke, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, urosepsis from chronic foley catheter or simply an infection from being in the hospital.

It's ugly. It painful for the family who wants to hope and pray for the best. The outcome is certain.

For the sake of argument lets grant everything that you said. Still comes back to what harm would it do the man to give him the drugs that the family has asked for and other doctors are willing to prescribe? If the outcome is that grave then nothing is lost by trying and in addition it sounds like they have been trying for a long time to do this but the hospital has stonewalled.

You wouldn't even have to fall back on the compassionate use law as IVM and other medicines are already FDA certified and have been for a long time. It would be simple off label usage which is allowed under current rules but when it comes to covid prophylaxis and treatment they won't do it.

I don't know of course but if I was a betting man I would wager that some of this man's caregivers would of loved to have tried alternative treatments but hospital protocols have forbidden it.

They aren't doing it because it's not indicated, even if it was fully cleared for use in Covid.

That is because he is post-covid. He has no more virus for the ivermectin to "work" on. His lungs are permanently scarred and pulmonary function is so compromised that it requires active pressure from the vent to force enough oxygen in to keep him alive. One possible treatment could be a lung transplant but he isn't a candidate most likely.

It is however contraindicated in lung disease as it tends to accumulate in those tissues.

OK, and assuming this is all true (and in this case, I believe it is) WHT NOT GIVE HIM IVERMECTIN? Get the family to sign a release, and give him the damned stuff! No, it's not likely to work, not at this point... but if it will give the family some comfort and closure, WHY not?

Then, when his condition is unchanged in a week, there will be no question that recovery is not possible.

Instead,, this family will forever be convinced that he would have lived if he have had only been given ivermectin.

I don't understand why we've lost all human compassion and common sense. Patients USED TO BE the highest priotity... now it's just "following the rules".

They still are, and that does include not giving medications that are likely contraindicated because of his lung scarring that will make that worse.

He isn't a covid patient any longer, there is nothing to treat.

The family being convinced that ivermectin is the "cure" is precisely the issue. They were sold a bill of goods. The article decries the doc for suggesting that the vaccine may have been been beneficial when we have good evidence that it does result in better outcomes. People will believe what they will, one way or the other, but in one breath claiming an atrocity for denying an unproven treatment while denigrating the suggestion that a proven treatment does provide benefit is likely contributory to him being there in the first place.

I don't lay any blame on them for that decision, but I do lay that at the feet of charlatans promoting the conspiracy to sell their products or therapies that have no proven benefit. Cases like this lie at their feet.
