People are wanting something for nothing lately. Can't get a good price on some of the things I want to liquidate. Guess I will keep them because I won't give them away. I don't get the slack when I go to purchase stuff. Even the Realtor was hinting for me to cut the price on the house I have up for sale for a second time. No. If it does sell at the current price, I will be losing some money.

Things are getting disgusting out there.

There is a way to help people without enabling them to be a sucking chest wound. Remaining compassionate without being self defeating is the goal here. This, unless your intention is to wear out before the race is over. Pace yourself, there are people that actually need, and want help. Lets be careful to help others for righteous reasons, theirs, and ours...Ex. Food, Shelter, Scriptural Advice (or none at all), as well as just listen if need be. Plastic trinkets, old wives tales, and pity have little value. Frustrating at times, I know from experience.

I call the local VFW and one rehab charity.

The VFW will know of someone who needs everything.

Rehab charity has a thrift store.

That's it.

I donate to the food bank. I grow it, pick it, and take it in. It's up to those folks (and they are amazing, and don't put up with BS) to distribute it.

If anyone uses the poor me card I don't help or even look twice at them. I help young families that are struggling and need a hand up not a hand out. Pay their electric bill one month or buy a tank of gas. It helps more then you realize.
