Got a marketing idea .......make a candy bar......

........wrapped gold foil with a green paper sleeve

.....and red lettering "Soylent Green" on the cover with the words scripted below.....

....."enjoy the sweet taste to a lower population"

....and on the back a website address where you can order your very own 64th scale of the Georgia Guidestones and a Soylent Green - human scoop model garbage truck.

I'd make it dark chocolate with crushed almonds on the outside and raspberry or cherry filling inside........

Hey????

NOT SORRY!!!!

Nothing unreal exists
I was too young to really understand it when it came out. I liked Heston, too. I'll watch it again.

Mom and I were just discussing this movie after McDonald's put out a 'Halloween-themed ad' showing limbs coming out of a giant meat grinder, which was, of course, used to make their pink goo that they make their "food" with. I told DM that I wondered how much of that was actually satire. Those are literally the times we are living in.

I ran across adds in some magazine a few years ago that was trying to sell Soylent Green bars. I had a good laugh, then explain to some youngsters what I found so funny. I did find it hard to believe that someone really thought that was a good name for their veggie snack.

That company is still around and they knew exactly what they were doing.

What made me cry was at the end when EGR was gonna die and he saw how beautiful the world used to be with nature, flowers and animals. I can't watch it anymore or I will cry buckets. I've gotten too sensitive in my old age. The poor children and the poor animals in the coming future.

Oh, um...yuck! Haven't seen it, yet. That is gruesome. Hopefully a lot of people agree.

It was a promo picture, but for the life of me, I can't recall where I saw it! (I read too many things!) I tried looking it up, but can't find it anywhere.

Except, of course, for the green flavor.

Edward G. Robinson was on the verge of dying from cancer when his character's death scene was filmed. Heston knew this, and his tears were real.

I didn't know that about Robinson, no wonder his performance was so touching. When he was watching his last movie, wow.

In many ways I think this was Heston's best movie.

A few months ago I was at the Grocery Outlet and picked up about a dozen 10 oz. cans of "Death Wish" Cold Brewed Coffee drink. They were either 2 for 3 cans for a buck. Straightens my hair and curls my toes, two thumbs up!

Death Wish coffee, some are attracted to, or by outlandish product names.

Me I was just curious.
