HEALTH I now know the true meaning of pneumonia

BTDT.....3 episodes of bronchitis and 2 episodes of pneumonia in one year is the reason I quit smoking over twenty-five years ago. Dumbest thing I ever started was smoking. One of the best things I ever did was quit! Not easy, but definitely worth it!

Actually you have been very helpful. I thought about what you said and then I thought about what numerous people on the board have said. “Do your own research.” So I plugged “pseudomonas” and “collodial silver” into the search engine and came up with A very scientific
Article on pseudomonas that I considered positive. I asked my wife to send it to her doctor. He has acknowledged receipt and is looking at it
Thank you. You were very helpful.
I’m so happy you were able to find some promising research! I really hope that it helps her regain her health.

Glad you are home!! Praying for you! Be gentle and kind to yourself. Take your time to heal. Your body has been through quite an ordeal! Will be checking in to read more about it tomorrow or whenever you feel up to it & see how you’re doing!

I want to thank everyone for their prayers, I'm just now able to sit in front of the computer and log on. A couple of weeks ago I went to the ER beccause I could only take shallow breathes and had painful stabbing pains everytime I took in a small breath. Turns out I had pneumonia so I went to another hospital where I stayed a couple of days and was released with antibiotics.

A day and a half later I came back to the ER with the same issues. This time they stuck tubes into my side to drain fluid. After a couple of days they discovered this wasn't gonna cut it. Doc comes into my room and says I have to have surgery. They have to go into my left lung and literally scrap the crud out of it. It was pretty much let them do the surgery or go home and die a miserable death. After the surgery I had two tubes sticking out of me and the fluid was flowing out of my lung.

Of my 53 years on this earth this has been the worst experience yet. And with the federal regulations on pain meds it's been pretty painful after getting released and going home. I am improving at a noticable pace but I'm a couple weeks from being able to go back to work. I never gave a thought as to how serious and painful pneumonia can be. It literally broke me. I'm glad I didn't have access to my safe. I gotta give credit to my wife who was there a mojority of the time, she took care of me the best she could.

Coming home I noticed my sense of smell was so acute that everything smelled like absolute shit. It didn't matter what I was smelling. All coffee smelled burnt. It killed my appetite to the point that I lost 30 lbs and I'm still losing.

It might be from the anesthesia, AL. Glad you are home. If you are losing weight, you might try Ensure or something to get calories into you. Carnation Instant Breakfast. Milkshakes. Canned peaches. Eggs. What sounds good to eat? Have your wife bring in something that she doesn't have to cook. Or microwave something to keep the scents down. Eat a peanut and butter sandwich, which doesn't require cooking. Something. Ya gotta get your strength back up. Hope you are feeling better soon!

I’m just happy to see that you’re posting!

Yes, good advice about trying foods with minimal odor! ^^^
You gotta eat!

Protein shakes
Boost drinks
What about pudding and yogurt? Calories, fat, and protein are what you need.

(Unless a doctor tells you differently. I’m only suggesting things that come to mind)

AL, I'm glad to see you're home and feeling well enough to post, but sorry to hear you had such an awful time of it. Several years ago I had an acquaintance who had to have surgery like you did and from talking with his wife it was very painful. I'm glad your wife helped you through the worst part of it. Prayers for you continue!

Yikes. What a rough ride you've been on eh? Please consider at least sipping bone broth, with garlic and onion, to help purify, and to rebuild, your blood.

Yogurt is probably a good idea too, after all those antibiotics..
Hang in there; I was once so beat down, in part from double pneumonia and treatments, that showering was a two day affair...but in a few years I was better than ever, running a small farm and breeding operation on top of a side hustle n those clients, and a "real" job. Just keep on keeping on it, and be sure to supply yourself with the best nutrition and self care practices in the mean time.
