I'm putting this here because I don't know where else to put it, does pertain to clothing.

My bad should has left me in an uncomfortable position. I can't stand to wear a bra. Kills my shoulder. But I don't like to go without one. I'm a bit overweight and large breasted. What can I wear under my shirt to kinda hide the fact that I don't have on a bra?

I'd appreciate no snarky comments.

There's a zipper front sports bra I saw recently, I don't remember the name but see the ads frequently on my facespy page, for just this problem. Guess I'll have to go looking for the ad now. Until you find something have you tried CBD cream on your shoulder?

Maybe a tight fitting tank top with a shelf bra? That'd keep the nips down to a dull roar, possibly.

Judy, search compression tshirt with shelf bra. They have nothing actually pressing on the shoulder. You may have to try a couple of brands and/or sizes so be sure to check return policies if you try any that don’t work. Can be a bit speedy but so are bras. Hope you find something to help you ~

The wife uses those when she is outside working. Seems to do fine for her

I doubt anything with a built in bra would work, too heavy. Thanks for the suggestions.

Packy I'm interested in your suggestion.

I think this is what was advertised in the ads I've been seeing it's called the Un Bra or something like that, more of a tank top. I've been contemplating getting on for this summer since you can wear it as outer wear, instead of under something like you would with a regular bra.

This past summer, after shoulder replacement surgery, I had to be bra-less for 6 weeks. Granted, the sling covered a lot of 'the ugly truth', but I opted for dark colored tank tops and a couple of pre-prepared, decoratively embroidered chambray-style shirts or pretty button-front blouses as light-weight over-jackets. I actually felt decent enough to go out in public or be seen by visitors.

Wife has had a similar problem (rod surgery) for years and similar physicality; she's got a wide selection of sports bras; different colours and different weights/thicknesses of material which seems to translate in terms of support. Looks natural enough to me and no bunny noses with the medium-to-heavy weight ones if that's what you're worried about.

Judy I understand. I like the white simple thin strapped men's tank. It works good. Otherwise, nothing and a baggy shirt over.

Gotcha! I was thinking a T-shirt type might be easier on her shoulder thank a tank top :)

Pink Festival Flirt Bra Set on Amazon (it's the only place I can find it now in my size). Doesn't hit on the shoulder...more up by the neck. If not for this, I would be braless.

Walmart has it too.

They are large and heavy, things like this won't work. I'm looking at a front hook sports bra, I'll see if it works. I need serious support.
So is the problem more one of difficulty hooking/unhooking the bra, or is the strap and pressure painful on your shoulder? I'd say the front connect sports bras will be the best way to go... this is one shopping need I'd strongly suggest going to a boutique type store to try different items on. Otherwise, look for online stores that allow for free returns (they pay postage) for any reason. It may take some experimentation yo find a bra that's comfortable. I'm fairly fully endowed, and I hated sports bras. They compressed almost painfully.

I'll be the first to advocate getting your shoulder fixed, too. Don't know what your issues are, but my joint replacement went extremely well, zero pain, and now back to full strength and range of motion, which I hadn't had for 20 years. The second shoulder is scheduled for later this spring. Can't wait.

Medicare (with my supplemental) covered all but around $100.00 of a $60,000 surgery. One overnight in the hospital. Can't hurt to have your providers do the math for you.

If you're like me, some of the problem is getting a bra that fits properly in the first place. After that, padded shoulder straps help. I'm a fan of no-wire Cacique bras. I watch for sales at Lane Bryant at the Outlet Mall.

Its both, shoulder pain and most of the time I can't hook it by myself. I did it a few days ago and it just wiped me out, I had to rest for about an hour. I did buy some front hook ones and they worked well but I gained weight that I have not been able to get back off. At least my back has quit hurting for not having the support of a bra on.

Thanks all

Judy

so many bras that look like they would work have thin straps that are very uncomfortable and dig into my shoulders.

I am large breasted too and I wear either a good fitting tshirt tank or camisole. When I had hearr surgery I wore a loose front closure bra when I needed one for the doctor's office. My sister wears a bandeau.

Same here, but I'm not really what I would call large breasted. I wear a tight fitting tank or camisole underneath my clothes, but never a bra, unless I'm going for a doctor's visit. I've just never been one to wear bras, but always want to be modest in appearance.

Have you tried hooking the "back" hooks in front, then turning the bra to the correct position with hooks in the back? I've had to do that for years because of bad shoulders. Haha..in fact, I almost forgot that I do it, because it's autopilot at this stage.

yes, I've tried doing that but because of my overweightness I can never get it pulled around properly. Large and heavy causes a lot of issues. Nothing but a bra of some kind would work for me under a blouse because the girls just hang there.

I've had swim suit tops that have build in bras and the girls have to be constantly adjusted because they keep falling out.

Judy, remember tube tops? They have several variations on Amazon. When I was nursing the kidlets/piglets I couldn't stand to have a bra on so wore tube tops under all my clothes for a while.

You beat me to it! A good tube top that is easy to pull on and off was exactly going to be my suggestion!

Hanes makes a sports bra that hooks in the front.the straps are t-straps. The material is lined t-shirt material. It is so comfortable to wear all day out working. My hands don't work well when I first get up, so I don't think I could work a zipper closure. But if I can get the first hook closed, I can get the rest done. This bra would not work for jogging. I have one of those sports bras. They are a pain to get in and out of. But I don't think either of us are jogging at our ages. Check Hanes online. I really love mine.

Backless, strapless cups......some adhesive, some silicon, some lifting. Here's many different styles Target has to offer

Sticky Bra Cups : Target

Might also Google "adhesive bra", "strapless bra", "backless bra"

.....'course, getting stranded on a tropical island solves EVERYTHING....even the tax man !!

As I've already said, too heavy and large for something like that, things like that are for smaller breasted women. thanks for the suggestion
